Ding Yu Xi and Meng Zi Yi confirmed as leads in new urban C-drama
The fantasy healing drama The Unsolved Mystery of a Warm Rainy Season (literal translation) officially announced its full cast and production details. The series reportedly began filming on June 23, with Legend of the Female General Zhou Ye and Hu Xian Xu starring as the leads.
The drama is produced by Wajijiwa Entertainment and is adapted from the highly rated novel of the same name by author Fan Da Wang. It brings together a creative team known for their expertise in emotional suspense, including Chen Zheng Dao and Wen Yu Fang. The series will consist of 24 episodes. Production is expected to last nearly 100 days, with the drama slated for a 2027 premiere.
The story centers on Lin Shi Lan, a survivor of a devastating flood. The disaster left the young woman with deep psychological trauma. As a result, whenever the rainy season arrives, she begins to experience hallucinations in which the past and present overlap, repeatedly finding herself trapped in the time and space of the catastrophe.
In the fourth year after the disaster, she meets Tan Jin, a young man who has experienced the same strange phenomenon, at a hospital. The two begin shuttling back and forth in a loop, uncovering the secrets behind the rainy season's anomalies while healing one another.
The series stars Hu Xian Xu with Zhou Ye in lead roles. Combining a melodrama with the novel concept of a time loop, the drama incorporates deeper themes such as trauma, personal growth, and bonds forged by fate.
