Aisin-Gioro Yin Ti is the 14th Prince of Emperor Kang Xi and Grand Imperial Concubine De. He has another blood brother, Aisin-Gioro Yin Zhen (4th Prince), who later became the Emperor Yong Zheng. However, in the famous princes' fight for the throne, Yin Ti was part of a different faction from his blood brother.
Yin Ti aligned himself with Aisin-Gioro Yin Si (8th Prince) and was a favoured son of both Emperor Kang Xi and Grand Imperial Concubine De. He supported the 8th Prince's romance with Maertai Ruo Xi, but when Ruo Xi rejected the 8th Prince's proposal, he became friends with her, eventually falling in love with her.
When his brother ascended the throne as Emperor Yong Zheng, he offered to help Ruo Xi leave the Forbidden City if she wanted to. Ruo Xi eventually took him up on his offer, and his method of rescue was to marry her as his secondary consort in name. He was the only person who was with Ruo Xi during her final moments.
