Nam Gi Tae

Fictional Character

He is charged with the 2004-2006 Seoul Southwestern Serial Murders.

Before his arrest, Koo Yeong Chun stalks victims, turning them around and stabbing them in the face, first with a leisure knife, then with a larger kitchen knife for greater pleasure. He enjoys watching victims die up close, which makes him take the risky step of exposing his face under the streetlight. He is arrested after his ninth crime.

Though he avoids discussing his past, he eagerly talks about murder, relishing it with unsettling enthusiasm. The profiler team, including Song Ha Yeong, is disturbed by his attitude. Despite his pride, he provocatively admits to the crimes, claiming that if he doesn't confess, Koo Yeong Chun will take credit for the Im Yeong Dong case. After hearing his disturbing accounts, Song Ha Yeong finally snaps, slamming the file on the desk.

Having had a troubled childhood, he has poor social skills, intellectual shortcomings, and lacks empathy. Yet, he excels in murder-related skills, confidently discussing his preparation, like running at night, sharpening knives, and hiding a pipe wrench in a playground seesaw.
