My theory (it's just a theory)

Nan Heng in the script go outside the script and become Nan Heng actor. He was waiting to act with Yi Meng. Why no one was able to have the role, it's because Nan Heng choose Yi Meng to ''to be his lead actress'' he is the real pen from the scriptwriter ....

So another theory...it's like Fushigi yuugi, story a girl who enter in the book, fall in love with a character, and bring him outside in the real world and married him....

I am currently on episode 4.  I believe that Nan Feng was pulled into the script but doesn't realize it yet.  He thinks he is just dreaming about the script.  She also doesn't realize that Nan Feng has been pulled in.  My theory is they will get together in the modern world at the end.

Of course this could all be blown out of the water as I get further into the drama.

Currently on ep. 11 and Shangguan He  knows what a supporting character is.  Could he be the scriptwriter?  Playing dumb but controlling the chess pieces?
Nan Feng didn't strike me as a red flag so I think I will go back and review ep. 1.

My theory: they're in a timeloop and Nanfeng is Nanheng And Song Yimeng had always been Song Xiaoyu. Song Xiaoyu got a fictional script, travels into script, goes thru events like how we're seeing now in the drama. Later on, she will likely tell Nanheng script details and her transmigration. And as they fight against fate together they all Die in the script world. but then Nanheng manage to come out to Song xiaoyu's world in the body of Nanfeng but at a time before she travel into script. This will also be the time point the drama we watch begin.  He knows she'll go into the script and does the same thing of changing the original fictional script to what we see now. So we loop back to beginning.  This time will probably have more changes So he can be with the song yimeng he knows again.🤔🤔🤔

Yes, I agree. I also have this feeling that the Emperor is testing Nan Heng to see when he will stop protecting his uncle and the other corrupt Gao family, so he can make him the Crown Prince. I feel there is something more to the Emperor than his blind hatred for Nan Heng. Also, if he truly hates Nan Heng, I wonder if he’s really the son of the Emperor because how could an Emperor hate his own flesh and blood…even if Nan Heng is part Gao? Also, Nan Heng’s mom said something weird to the Emperor when she ask him if he’s mean to Nan Heng because that is ”her” son and that she should be blamed for her sins. What’s that all about? Then again, I get the translated version in English, so I don’t know what the true meaning might be in Chinese/Mandarin.

In EP34, SYM meets a man that recognizes her as SXY. He seems to have come from the modern world and like her, has read the script.

Maybe it’s just me but that man looks like CGH’s father. If so, then he may have taught Dr. Zhao how to heal injured men in the Qian Yu army. I think he sent Dr. Zhao to heal NH, knowing what CGH, his son, would do. I think he also knocked out CGH in the forest when CGH was being chased by people.

Question is, did he figure out how to survive the Pinyong battle after dying so many times, like SYM did in her role in the script? After she died many times, trying to evade her fate, she was taken back 6months earlier, so perhaps the same thing happened to him? I’m trying to find the scenes where CGH remembers Pingyong battle and seeing his father die. I don’t quite remember it. I just remember him being taken prisoner or being ambushed, but not the scene where his father actually dies…but maybe I wasn’t paying attention enough.

Also, why him? Meaning why did he and SXY transport into the script? Did anyone else or just them? What caused them to be transported, but others not? I wonder if it’s because they both were supposed to have died in the script…

I could be way off base because I’m just going by the guys looks and I could be assuming incorrectly that he looks like CGH’s dad.

I wonder if the Emperor is also transported into the script? He’s showing signs of illness, so wondering if he’s supposed to die at some point? Maybe he’s realized he needs to be harsh towards NH so that he’ll become a worthy crown prince through all the trials and tribulations? Why is he so willing to make NH happy by approving his requests for SYM unless he really cares about NH?

For those who understand Chinese (I only got the gist of it), there is an interesting theory posted on weibo here. And they also say NH is the same person as NF. I also believe this. I need to rewatch some of ep 1 and the last few eps to better see the hints. But I will say the way NF acted in ep 1 was suspicious, like there was more that meets the eye.
