I really like Chu Guihong and find the actor who plays him very handsome and talented. But I noticed there were very few people talking about him in the comment section, so I opened this thread so that his fans could communicate here. By the way, people who also like the male lead are not excluded here :-)

From my point of view, Chu's demeanor is very noble and elegant. His fight scenes are both quite powerful and beautiful. The emperor really should bestow upon him the title of prince. His love for the female lead is also very true, and he has a pair of eyes that talk to you :-)

If he is just another second male lead who has a one-sided love for the female lead but couldn't get what he wants, that would be fine. But he and Song Yimeng have truly known each other ever since childhood and have always been in love. When he went to the border, the female lead embroidered a scented sachet for him and traveled a long way to see him off. They had been writing to each other (very long letters) for many years. One day, he came back, thinking that they could finally be together, but his girl fell in love with someone else, an evil man as far as he knew. Just put yourself in his shoes, this is too painful... I could hardly bear to see how the female lead would cut off all this with her own hands later on...

Maybe unrelated, but I saw many people complaining the female lead is so stupid that she just cannot figure out Li Shiliu is Nan Heng. Here are some of my thoughts:

In the second episode, the two maids of the female lead admitted that they had lost their basic judgment in matters related to Nan Heng: "I actually didn't notice anything wrong", "I couldn't help but feel a surge of admiration for him in my heart." Then, the female lead couldn't help but cheer loudly for Nan Heng's deeds as well, and she said, "I see, not only you, but even I can't escape the influence of his protagonist's light." This indicates that the script can not only control the behaviors of people in that world, but also their thoughts and feelings (including the female lead's).

What happened during the Lantern Festival has already told us that all the main plots in the script are bound to occur, among which there must be the crucial plot that the female lead falls in love with the male lead. But now, the female lead's fear of the male lead makes it impossible for her to fall in love with Nan Heng. So the script arranges for her to fall in love with Li Shiliu, and she cannot realize that Li Shiliu is Nan Heng until she is in love with him. Because in that world, whenever the main plots need to occur, people involved would temporarily lose their free will. The same thing happened to that old lady selling lanterns, and Nan Rui when he wanted to light the fireworks for Ting.

Besides, we know that at the beginning of the story, when the actors in the real world were having a meeting, they were actually discussing how to revise the script and finally reached an agreement. So, maybe while the female lead is living in the world of the script, the plots of the script are kept being changed by the screenwriter (remember those typing sounds?). So, although the female lead had read the script, there were plots that she was not aware of.

Welcome to discuss if you have any opinions about  it :-)

Reading your comment really brought something to mind—I remembered that when the drama was  announced on its official Weibo, they used the phrase “梦里啥都有” (Anything is possible in a dream).

I think that says a lot. It reinforces your point that this world isn’t bound by regular logic or cause-and-effect. Feelings shift, memories distort, identities blur—not because the characters are irrational, but because they’re inside something dreamlike and scripted.

Your observation about the FL not being “stupid” but rather script-bound really resonates. Maybe the heartbreak, the mistaken identities, even the unfairness… they all happen because this world runs on dream logic. Which makes Chu Guihong’s pain even more tragic—he’s real inside a world where nothing else can stay that way.

I also really like general Chu character. Imo Wang You Shuo very good in this role. Also I kinda love NH / CG petty but intertaining interactions. It seems that they both kinda enjoy them) And I hope there is still  chance for their reconciliation.  After all they both hostages of the script and those roles assigned to them. I just hope that drama will remain faithful to comedy genre and not go down as tragedy.

Happy that more people support CGH. Nanheng is invincible with protagonist aura and a lot of people like him a lot already, LOL. A tiny fraction of fans dedicate for CGH is appreciated.

Yes, just like in a dream! To make the plot happen, you won't realize something is wrong when you shouldn't.

Oh my God I saw in the preview that Chu proposed but Song didn't agree. My heart is bleeding...

I hope so too. The atmosphere of the scene where they chat and drink together is actually very good. How could two true men not understand each other? If Chu and Nan Heng can clear up the misunderstanding and shake hands to make peace, then even if Song leaves him in the end, his ending won't be entirely bad. Otherwise, he will truly lose everything literally: his foster mother, father, friend, lover, honor, life... Oh my God, screenwriter, can you have a bit of conscience?

Yes, although I also like the male lead, his resume is really... It can only be said that this is indeed the world in the script. In contrast, Chu, who loses occasionally, makes me feel more real :-)

Girls, have you seen the latest few photos? Wang Youshuo is so hot!

The plot on the day of the proposal was so exciting. However, the misunderstanding between Nan Heng and Chu seems to have deepened. It feels like the general direction of the plot hasn't changed.

Yes, he definitely is) I love WYS in wig dramas they suit him very well, but I would like to see him in modern day drama to.

To be honest, I would like to see this drama do more emphasis on this world rules. That they all live and act in a script and not just some 'encient times'. I liked comedy moment - when they all were sitting on the bed was absolutely hilarious. But I really want to know more about this script world rules.

Yes, she wanted to rewrite the story and marry Chu Gui Hong to avoid being entangled with Nan Heng.
It’s like no matter how she tries to rewrite the story, some destinies are on a loop…

So many good thoughts here already, I’m glad Chu Guihong has his own space now! I think Chu’s pain hits harder because it feels real within an unreal world. Maybe that's why so many viewers connect with him—he suffers like a real person, not a protected protagonist. And that makes his quiet dignity all the more powerful.

Yes. I love how elegantly unperfect he is. This moment with all this letters - WYS showed CG pain and his insecurity so well.

‘Elegantly unperfect’ is such a beautiful way to describe someone fully human — I love that.
That said, the letters scene felt more like a brilliant parody to me 😂 — it was so over-the-top, but in a self-aware, cheeky way.
And yes, Chu Gui Hong is in deep pain. The betrayal that led to his defeat, the loss of his father in that same battle, and the 10-year ache for the woman he never stopped yearning for…

Yep agree. And imo this moment with all this letters was kinda cleverly done. Obvious drama cliche for us viewers and for Song, but reality for CG.

I hope they will continue to develop 'script world' rules and mechanics. I'm a little afraid that they'll forget about this aspect of drama as it happened with some transmigration drama before.
