The horrors (?)

I know this is late but i was thinking about Vice versa again - with JimmySea new series and all, and I suddenly realised: 'Wow. This is actually psychological thriller/horror.'

HEAR ME OUT!

Your lifelong friend suddenly changes personality, quits his job (THAT HE WORKED SO HARD TO GET), cuts you and all his other friends out of his life and becomes a hermit (basically) and you have no idea what happened. Then a full year later he reverts back to himself, still with 0 explanation and life just moves on and also he has a celeb boyfriend now.

The body swapping thing is already a horror element that was kind of explored in the series so I'll not go too deep into it.

I also keep thinking of that boss of talay who also was body swapped and was like...younger than him...very sad actually.

But at least we have JimmySea chemistry to distract us :3

I just finished watching the series and let me tell you, I feel just like that. For me, the worst part is that Tess was the only one of the MC that made no effort to keep the other person's life in track. He is so selfish.

Imagine going back to your life and finding that everything you worked was destroyed. It's a nightmare.

Then imagine not being able to go back and realizing you are stuck in another universe, away from everyone you love.

So, I agree with you, It's horror in a cute package.

TBF in Tess' defence: it's not like he has any colouring experience (it doesn't look like he has a lot of skills in general) and he is also displaced from his own comfortable life (as we saw from some glimpses that he is a very privileged and spoiled boy living in a huge condo, designer clothes etc.). His choices were very much in line with his established character and it would've been weirder for him to be suddenly mature and responsible.

I dont think this universe trip has made him grow into a better person which I find sad because we do see this for Talay and Jimmy. Tess will just revert to his original state and his friends will wonder what happened. also because Ohmnanon characters (forgot their names) supposedly were friends before but broke up and in the epilogue we see that they're friends again...but how long will that last?

And for JimmySea characters: it's pure dumb luck that they got to live a life that was pretty similar to what they had before and got along well with their new friends.

Also another horror element: JimmySea approach the Gang's parallel counterparts in their own universe again which also has me thinking of time travel horror (but i shan't talk ab that now lest this reply gets too long)

I completely agree with you. It’s so sad that there is no character development for Tess, but I was looking at the situation from Talay’s POV. It’s expected that Tess would continue to be himself even in the other universe and that he would do nothing to try to return to his own, as he did, but he wrecked Talay’s life.

Them approaching the gang members on the other universe is... Horror.

Let's just be thankful for the cute and funny moments that lightened the drama.
