What I don't understand is...

So Yu Mo went to the Mortal Realm to find Yan Dan.. which he did.. , and also encountered the Dragon Prince and Princess from the Heavenly Realm, however, why did he not recognise Emperor Ying Yuan  as Tang Zhou when he saw him?  Are we supposed to believe that Ying Yuan is  greatly different looking in the Mortal Realm?
