@JJJ, you are a star. Thanks and well done. I pause and run through the family tree in my head at nearly every alternate episode. I very nearly got frustrated enough to draw out their family tree on paper, and then I remembered MDL.
Some spoilers for me but not complaining at all. I was frustrated, but now feel 'vindicated'. I kept thinking, "surely this makes no sense!". How is everyone around this Emperor dropping dead like flies? And he appears to love and accommodate everyone, and no one is actively trying to kill him off. Every time I saw him with the Empress Dowager, I would question my suspicion and even cast doubt on the actor's acting skills. Great work to the actor that played him though (don't know his name). After every one of his scene, I would comment to myself - "something is definitely off about this man". You could almost taste his duality.
