I am a huge music lover and i always connect music with shows, real life situations or delusions lol, so here’s another playlist, but this time i filled it with songs that in my opinion describe Luan Nian and Zhitao’s relationship. Some songs don’t fit their relationship perfectly, but the vibe is there 😆 I’m gonna explain some of the songs i’ve added so if anyone doesn’t want to read, just scroll to the end for the link❤️

Stay- Rihanna, Mikky Ekko

I don’t think i need to do much explaining as to why i associate this song with them. The lyrics literally explain their situation. They are going around in circles and every time they fight they kiss and make up. It’s a constant loop they can’t seem to get away from.

Back to friends- sombr

Now this is one of the songs that doesn’t fit them perfectly, because they were nevee friends in the first place lol, HOWEVER I think it fits them if you look at the lyrics differently. When i listen to this song and imagine them i interpret the lyrics as „How can we go back to being just an employee and employer when we just shared a bed”. It describes Zhitao’s struggle to separate her boss from her boyfriend(which is absolutely reasonable , so never date your boss…)

Every breath you take- The police

This songs reminds me of Luan Nian SOMEHOW always watching Zhitao’s interactions with her male friends or colleagues. This man is absolutely always at the crime scene and reacts childishly EVERY DAMN TIME. If you’ve watched the last episode (20) you’ll know that Zhitao changed and actually confronted Luan Nian about his interaction with a female, but Luan Nian still has that habit of spouting nonsense at Tao and after she clears the misunderstanding he just looks at her puppy eyed and there we go- another problem patched up and buried deep in their hearts.

New rules - Dua Lipa

Another song that doesn’t describe them perfectly BUT there’s a nice message in it - „If you’re under himmyou ain’t getting over him”. I interpret that in two ways. First, Zhitao is really physically attached to Luan Nian, because as i already said previously, whenever they had a fight they resolved it with hugs and kisses. She finds comfort in him which makes her close her eyes about all their problems (this goes both ways). And second, as long as she’s his employee she can never separate their private relationship from their work relationship because he is the one that controles her work life. That creates a psychological illusion in her mind that he will always be above her and she will always feel inferior.

I think this will get too long if i explain everything so yes, mid writing i am deciding to stop with the explanations LOL i’ll just say, in each song i’ve added you will find a lyric that will remind you of them.
