Please help i am a bit lost

ep 6 Yu Wanyin and Xiahou Dan continue their staged “fall from favor” to protect her father and throw their enemies off guard. They pretend to be estranged while actually coordinating behind the scenes.
In the harem, rumors of her downfall spread, and other concubines mock her.
Yu Wanyin extracts key scholar names by manipulating a drunken Xie Yong’er.
She also realizes that Prince Duan isn’t following the original novel’s plot anymore and is acting unpredictably.
Prince Duan suspects Yu Wanyin is an impostor after comparing handwriting samples and plans a confrontation.

ep 7Xiahou Dan publicly favours Xie Yong’er, but privately shows devotion to Yu Wanyin, and she begins to trust him more.
Yu Wanyin meets with Prince Duan, who has noticed something unusual about the transmigrators.
To test him, they gather scholars on a boat and Xiahou Dan reveals he’s trying to reform the court and make up for past mistakes — a bid to sway them away from Prince Duan’s influence.

If you mean when they refer to Prince Duan possibly being of a 'higher or highest level' - what they mean is that they think he may also be a transmigrator but that he has read the novel in which Wanyin and Xiahou Dan are transmigated characters in so he has knowledge of what their next actions will be. This would make him the 'ultimate' transmigrator as he would know what every other character including the FL and ML are planning. 

So the levels are: Xie Yong'er was reading the original novel where the FL was Wanyin and ML was Prince Duan. She transmigates into that novel and now becomes the new FL eliminating Wanyin because she knew what happens in original story and uses that info to her advantage. So her story is now the new novel (call it level 2). This new level 2 novel is what Wanyin and Xiahou Dan were reading and have transmigated into. Because they have read this new novel they've been able to predict Xie Yong'ers and Prince Duans actions and able to use that info to their advantage. So they are at a higher level than Xie Yonger (she doesnt know that Wanyin and Xiahou Dan are transmigators because they weren'tin the original novel she was reading). 

Wanyin and Xiahou Dan are now worried (because Prince Duan is acting out of character from the novel they were reading) that maybe they too aren't real ppl and they are also just paper characters in the novel (call it level 3 novel) that Prince Duan was reading and transmigated into. ie. he has read the novel about Wanyin and Xiahou Dan being transmigrators and what their actions/plans will be and that is why he has changed his actions from original novel). If that's the case it would put Prince Duan at an advantage knowing who they all are and what actions they will take, therefore he is at the 'highest level' and most in control out of all of them.  

They keep testing Prince Duan to determine if that's the case by taking actions to see if he can predict them because he has possibly read everything in the novel he transmigated into. After the boating attempted assassination incident, they pretty much work out if he truly is a transmigrator of a 'higher level' or just bluffing.

so is Sml really a higher transmigrator? 

Gosh thank you just watched episode 6 and was so confused! This helps some so Is SML 2d or transmigrator
