I am reading the novel which is rather interesting with all the twists and turns in plot... while enjoying majority of it I am wondering about the issue of mercury rivers in the founding emperor's tomb. Around ch 181 the description of the tomb is a stark reminder of how devil is in the detail: I remember when visiting Xi'an and nearby historical sites the infamous tomb of Qin Shi Huang comes to mind. This thing is still unexplored because archeologists are afraid the mercury load will be too dangerous to the crew and local population/environment (from what I know).

If the main female character is a modern world transplant she must have known about the toxicity of mercury! If she is walking through that tomb like the one in Shaanxi while heavily pregnant - that is a guarantee of the young prince Ding's brain damage, not only her own slow and painful death from exposure. And neither Doc Lin or the guy in black are completely unconerned about how that freaken mercury river is killing them! The dude went there a few times! He should be covered in wounds and such!

I am hoping the author makes more comments about that, but this is something I am not willing to oversee.
