People, I AM STARVING for Jack & Joker... I need y'all to share your theories on who y’all think the person who opened the door is. Because the way Joker was terrified of this person... We all know how well Joke hides his feelings, so that reaction really threw me off.
Could it be someone from his time in prison, since we don't know the full details of what happened there? Or could it be someone he knows personally? But if it’s someone he knows, wouldn’t he mask it with happiness or at least some form of calmness instead of fear?
kukukakiku:
It could be boss or one of the four horsemen/their underlings(?) I still think both jack & joke are still in their game, that's why they let carbon get out of the jail easily. And even after he killed his dad, police can't track him.
It could also be lompran... there're so many possibilities, hope they'll make part 2 of this special episode
Hear me out, it might sounds crazy, but I think the ending is connected to the beginning, as in the man we saw with the long hair wasn't Jack, but a man who looks like Jack (and based on the subtitle, his name's is Jokjaek.) He's the one who opened the door, cause if you look at the shadow that cast on Joke, they have the same long hair. Jokjaek might had saved Joke and I want to say Joke could had lost his memories or something and saw familiarity with Jokjaek. (But that's just my guess, cause it wouldn't really explain why Joke looked shock)

Earlier in the episode, Tattoo mentioned that Boss is living with Arun (although Arun has mostly moved in with Tattoo) so it's probably not him. I think you're right about the four horsemen though, Rosé said that there was still a game being played involving Lompran that she wants to stop.
Will copy+paste my theory I posted on tumblr (here's the link), I'll add another observation below. It's long.
Reading all theories and also frying my brain to come up with what will they do with that cliffhanger, I thought of something that might make sense. This, however, would only work (well) in a full 10-12 eps season rather than another special episode or movie.
First of all, I think it's a new character (and that's why I think this will only work with a full season, because introducing a new character just for a short episode will give no substance to it). It's no one we know and I tell you why I think that: Joke had someone specific in mind. I don't think he's talking about Carbon here. Especially because everyone in the conversation knows Carbon very personally, he could just say his name.So having this in mind, he might've been referring to this new character. So the fact this person is the one... 'housing' Joke, and who tended to his wounds, and also for his shock, this person might be either an old cellmate or someone else that's been incarcerated and Joke knows about or personally. Maybe a rival thief. So he's talking about this person here.
Also, VERY important missing information in the subs: Joke says "someone like me" in the sense of 'has the same abilities/did/does the same things'. This is crucial information that is in several other subs but not in the English one. Because the English subs on this ep are dogshit, lbr.
So I think one option that could happen:
This person wants Joke to either work for or with them. After all, you can't just wipe an alias like "legendary thief" in a year. Whatever it is that they want him for, it might be convenient for them that Joke's deemed dead, or they actually needed Joke to "die" for it to work. They might be in cahoots with someone we already know, or they might be acting alone.
This can be a double-edged sword because the person can be good, neutral or evil and we might not know until the very last minute.
Now one thing that caught my attention: The black shirt in the background. Absolutely nothing when it's about clothes is Just There in J&J. There's always a lot of subtle storytelling in their clothes, especially when it comes to black and white. And specifically a black shirt hanging in so openly there and no other piece of clothing while Joke is wearing white? This is deliberate.
Do you remember Jack's red ticket? When the joker turns black to white, etc? This might be the opposite of that. This might mean starting from square one, undoing everything up to that point, or it might also mean Joke's darkening arc. Joke's wearing white, so washing this away to taint it black. It might also mean someone who's opposite of him if the shirt is referring to this new character, but I'm not too sold on this idea since black is mainly Jack's motif, especially in relation to Joke. Also, maybe this is the 'enemies' Nang was talking about. And maybe because Joke has no choice but to do what he's told, whether if it's under threat or because maybe Jack would be in danger if he doesn't because that's their thing, or both, probably both, he can't show up to Jack or any of the piggies, and that is the main conflict of the season.
This can tie with the whole 'moving on' thing about Jack that everyone is terrified of. I don't think that even if it might seem so to add to the tension, Jack will ever actually move on; not FROM Joke at least. He can move on from the pain, make peace with the idea he's not coming back, but not from what he feels for Joke. If Joke appeared in front of him be it tomorrow or in 10 years, he'd probably just resume their lives together (after coming back from the shock of seeing him alive which can take some time). He himself said Joke is the one he loves the most. And some people change you so viscerally and completely that they'll always mean the same to you, forever, which is definitely the case for both.
Maybe if we're going through this route because J&J's classic angst and pain, Joke's gonna watch him from afar going on with his life, then that lack of self-worth he has that I'm pretty sure doesn't just vanish in such a short time even if he's found love and some healing, might keep him from approaching Jack even if he wants to and can do so; he wouldn't want to ruin whatever Jack has built without him so far.
If that's the case, if this really happened, I'd want Jack to find out and tackle Joke on the ground when he's being watched just like their first encounter after the 5 years. It'd be one of the most poetic cinema cycle closing one could pull off with this possible new season. But that's just my wishful thinking.
Now my added part: the absolute ONLY person I can think of that it could be and we already know is... Nang. Even if it's an entirely new character I wouldn't discard the possibility she could be behind it as well. She's the one who predicted everything. She knew what would happen. But even if she's not evil, she's still dangerously manipulative as we could see with everything surrounding Boss and the Four Horsemen. So she might've saved him because she was the only one who knew what would happen, and might have something for him to do, a condition to be able to actually save him. But I'm not 100% sold on this either because I don't think Joke would react like this if it was her, after all, she's present and important enough in Jack and Joke's life now to be the one to officiate their wedding.
Either way it's definitely someone Joke knows and maybe even fears, if that absolute shock, almost terrified expressions says anything about it. People been saying Lompran, but Joke never met Lompran and even if he did why would he fear him lol. If anything he'd be angry/defensive.
But now we may never find out who it is :v
Just wanted to let y'all know I am also suffering big time along with you!
Let's keep supporting each other!
I agree with the person not being lompran because at the end of the day that guy is a rather weak one. It would be more believable if it was Carbon , so definitely not. But I remember that dialogue too and thought it should be important. And moreover the fact that Carbon has been pronounced dead before but ended up being alive , means it could happen. But this time they said they found Carbon's body . Which means that he might actually be dead this time.
And also I agree with the new character theory makes sense so does that ex prison mates one because something messed up did happen but they never clarify what .
And if the shirts do mean a turn to the dark side or even another evil character I say bring it!!
Hello everyone!
I am also very impressed by the special episode....
While reading your reviews and theories, I thought:
1) Could the beginning of the series be its end, that is, what happened after Joker's false death?
2)I am haunted by the Joker's address to this unknown person: Ai' (that is, as if he were a very familiar person, and they have known each other for a long time and know each other well).
3)Why was he very scared and even looked at this unknown person with hatred (which once again suggests that they are very closely acquainted, and that unknown person is a bad and scary person, obviously)?
I saw a comment back in the OG comment section of the drama page and someone mentioned Hoy but now I can't find it... because I think everything connects back to the very beginning scene where Jack's one crucial line was: Why do I find his movements to be so familiar? (i.e. Why do I feel like I should know who this person is based on their gait? But I can't pinpoint their name. It's on the top of my tongue but I can't recall it) Connecting that line with people saying it's Hoy being the new "villain" behind everything would make sense because during the OG 12 episodes, although it was Tattoo that originally wasn't trusting... Hoy was always overlooked or ignored and that may have(?) built vengeance in him and throughout the special episode, he was clearly showing expressions of envy, anger, (a hint of) selfishness and anything merciless to make viewers doubt his usual happy-go-lucky personality. Once he switched off the smile and bright faces, he even scares me! It made me question: What is your deal, man? What's your ulterior motive? You wouldn't be a profiler's favourite if they saw your body language right about now, Hoy!!!!
Jack says the thing about knowing the person's moves because that's Carbon. Idk why would people think that would be Hoy. Hoy is the pure-hearted of the crew, but even good guys get angry and frustrated when one of their best friends fucking dies and someone you trusted (Nang) didn't do anything about it.
Ahhh Still reeling and suffering because no idea when they are even going to have the second one out so I'm just watching the whole thing on repeat and their edits. That's healthy right :')
As for Hoy agree that he actually is the most relaxed of all , bro shot Tattoo in the ass I still cant get over it lol pretty sure his few brain cells would not make him a good villain.
The thing is the more i watch Nang's shenanigans the more I feel she's extremely manipulative. Not the villain but yes definitely connected to this whole thing and so will be the Horsemen.
what was said about the way Joke addressed the person is definitely got to me too! agree with that fully.
but the beginning of series being the end , im not sure about that one though.
