Recently started reading a few Chinese novels that were adapted into some my favorite C-dramas. So far I've read the English translations of Gank Your Heart, Your Smile is Very Alluring (Love 020), Come and Eat Shan Shan (Boss & Me), I Hear You and You Are My Glory.
Out of the four, only Gank Your Heart had the most changes in the adaptation. In the novel Xiang Kong was more proactive in letting Mi Ya know that Qiu Ying was his girlfriend compared to in the drama. Went backstage and introduced Qiu Ying as his girlfriend to Mi Ya after her first concert back.
Qiu Ying didn't have a step-brother in the novel and Xia Ling ended up being part of Phoenix by chance. Qiu Ying's cousin liked him and Qiu Ying brought over Xiang Kong to her home to visit and play with all the guys who hung out there playing games. Xiang Kong took notice of Xia Ling ever since then when he played with him. Xiang Kong won. In the novel, even the famous commentator who plays Qiu Ying's idol, Luo Tian, in the drama, didn't understand Xiang Kong's playing style. And made comments about him being a klutz and dying again.
Anyways, now what I really want to read is the original novel for GO Into Your Heart. It's about a genius Go player who's color blind who meets a female reporter. For some reason he can see her in color and becomes close to her to figure out why. Later becoming the love of his life.
It's also called Chess Love/She Wo Qi Shei by Gong Zi Shi. Anyone know where I can read the novel's English version?
