Trying To Clear Up The Confusion In This Series

I'm posting this hoping it will help those who are having a difficult time figuring out what is going on in "EveryYou, Every Me." The two episodes that aired have nothing that connects them, correct? Let me help.
"Every You, Every Me" is about two people who meet up and fall in love over many, many lifetimes. Each episode (or two) is a "lifetime." The only connection between the episodes are the two main characters, played by Mick and Top. This means every week there will be a new story about one of their lifetimes. It is a series about soulmates.

I know now many people night not be active

But can someone help clear what exactly happened in ep 4

I know he wentnto Switzerland ans something related to dignitas

But what disease did he have that he had to commit that

i searched google and i think its motor neuron disease(MND/ALS) from the way his hands cannot hold things
