King's Daughter Soo Baek Hyang
Strawberry Night (Japan, 2012). Next is the 2013 movie but I'm very reluctant because I get the impression that fans who were into Kikuta x Himekawa (basically the OTP that the drama put forth, though since it's not primarily a romance drama it's very subdued) don't like the direction the movie takes. My understanding is that the franchise is based on a series of novels and the particular story they adapted for the film has our heroine falling for some yakuza dude (really?!) rather than furthering the burgeoning relationship with her ace subordinate (omg I love Kikuta so much, it's sad) as hinted at in the TV drama so... should I torture myself by watching more of these characters I've grown to love, even if the story takes them in a direction I will probably absolutely hate? Or should I just forego the movie (and possibly the follow-up 2013 Special) and just take the ending to the TV series as the end of the story, period? Ugh, why do you do this to me drama?!
