So I got a little curious about Gelboys and decided to watch ep 1. First, I'm both shocked and not really shocked that was filmed on a smartphone. They have advanced in quality so much that you literally can film something that high quality that you can hardly tell it's not filmed with professional cameras. Second, it's actually not bad at all. Although I was kinda going back and forth saying to myself, "Eh, idk if I'm really interested in this." I was finding I was getting engrossed in it as the episode went on. It's got this almost indie film quality to it, which I liked. It's not overproduced or have that heavily commercialized feel to it. I actually think I'll watch this series.

I didn't think I would like it because the themes aren't my thing and the leads don't tickle my love button - but actually, it's strangely fascinating and also interestingly authentic in terms of how it portrays modern teen behaviour and modern crowded urban Bangkok street life.

I was thinking maybe this was partly why I was wavering on whether this was something I would be into or not. Partly maybe because of the middle school aesthetic style with the graphics they used in the editing, which seemed a little out of place considering it's supposed to be high school. Whereas Love Sick, which could be considered the same target audience, didn't give me that feeling at all. I adored LS from the very first moment to the very last with zero reservations or feelings like I was not the right target audience at all.

Yup, me neither. Although "Love Sick 2024" also had a lot of teen authenticity in terms of behaviour and emotions, the vibe was much more conventional school BL.

I was wondering why my phone was getting spammed with GaGaOOLaLa notifs from their socials. It's them 'final episode freakout posting' about it being the last ep of that series today lol. I haven't watched it, but I know many of you here as well as in the broader BL community are, and it's one you guys seem to love a lot.

RE: THK - Umm, can't say I "love" it, but there have been some great moments throughout. Mostly watching for the 2 ML couples. I, too, am a Dunk fan. I'm also really enjoying First & Khao for the first time.

It is one of my all time favourite BLs. That make up kiss after Korn jumped into the river is legendary!
