The idols not dating is such a pain for me like they cant even have a private life.

Oh I remember how sad this time was for them.

I’m currently ONLY subscribed to IQIYI (and Netflix) because that’s where all the show’s I’ve been watching are streaming.

But, Top Form will be on Wetv/Tencent.

Are there any shows on there I need to watch to make my subscription worth it? 🤣

I have Manner of Death as #1 on the list.

(I seem to be posting a lot today. Sorry about that!)

Eternal Butler

I like romantic robot dramas. A lot. And since I love Anti Reset I couldn't wait to binge EB. And...... drum roll...........it was a bust! 😭

I don't know if it was an off day or if the drama was off, but I couldn't continue beyond ep 2. Not even all of ep 2. I know nada about acting or directing. But I know what I don't like and I didn't like either one.

In addition to that - and this is really dumb, but I got annoyed at the butler robot for constantly pushing his eye glasses back into place with his finger, which he did in a very deliberate way while the camera focused on it. every. single. time.

Maybe it gets better later. Maybe not. Maybe I'll go back and try again someday. For now it's in my drop list. Boo Hoo! 😞

Maybe just subscribe for one month - or even save up a few WeTV titles before doing so?

I still have my WeTV subscription (along with iQiyi, Viki, Gaga, Netflix), but other then the uncut versions* of "Fourever You" and "Addicted Heroin", I've likewise found that there hasn't been much on it lately in terms of exclusives on must-watch BLs. Ironically, WeTV's own BL productions seem to often be on Gaga.

Also, some of WeTV's content (e.g. "Addicted Heroin") is geoblocked, so then I have to VPN to Bangkok or wherever, then call up the title in incognito mode before logging in.

Finally, there's also at least one BL title on WeTV I really wanted to watch that doesn't have any subtitles, grrrr.

*Both of these were also on Youtube "cut", but I have no idea to what extent.

Jesus! I didn't know it was this bad. I stay mainly ignorant to the reality that exists with toxic BL fans. This is just so sad and a disappointment all around; this really really sucks. GMMtv also not being there to solidly support their actors angers me, and it makes me worry for other actors under them.

Yeah. I unsubscribed from gaga and viki like a month ago because everything that I wanted to watch on there, was also in IQIYI. I’ll probably resubscribe if they release anything exclusive, or the urge hits to watch Star in My Mind for the 20th time 🤣

I don’t remember the last time I subscribed to WeTV.

While I agree 100% with what you write here, my impression of this particular Youtube channel is that it's negative and not particularly balanced or reliable, i.e. it sometimes adds a toxicity of its own.

I always understand when I'm watching these kinds of YouTube channels that there's going to be an element of personal bias that is going to color these things with their own opinions that they attach to these videos alongside the information.

LMAO SAME! I binged through anti resetbecause it was so good. But the pace in eternal butler seems to be confusing.

At least the actors are hot ig...

Also guys, this is slightly off topic, but does anyone have any j-bl movie recommendations? I seem to be in a slump. Anything fluffy and not too intense (also I've already watched 'restart after come back home' and the movie ver of 'love: life on the line').

Maybe try Seven Days : Monday - Thursday and Seven Days : Friday - Sunday.

I watched them a long time ago, but I remember liking them well enough. (IDK if it's fluffy but I don't think it's intense.) The only bad thing was the wigs the actors were wearing, but consuming Japanese media... that happens sometimes lol

It's hard for me to think of anything really good that's not already in your Completed or PTW lists, or already mentioned above. I know you specifically wrote "movie", but I'll answer generally, including series. In any case, Japanese series usually have a movie-like total runtime.

Looking at your PTW list:
(1) I can especially recommend "Bokura no Shokutaku" as a sweet, easy, non-intense, very broadly popular watch. (If you like it, there's an equally sweet follow-on special episode "Bokura no Kyuujitsu".) (2) The recently aired "Doku Koi" and "Futtara Doshaburi" were both broadly popular and quite good. I wouldn't call them "fluffy", but they're not heavy or intense - somewhere in between.
(3) I personally loved "Minato" (both seasons) and would call it fluffy and an easy watch - but not everyone liked it.
(4) "Eien no Kino" and "Bokura no Micro na Shuumatsu" are both really good but somewhat heavy, definitely not fluffy.

Two recent fluffy JBLs that I very much liked but don't see on your list are "Kare no Iru Seikatsu" and "Sugar Dog Life". Neither is brilliant drama, but both are nice, easy watches with cute protagonists.

A non-BL Japanese series that I really loved and can recommend is "Rokuhodo Yotsuiro Biyori". It has some bromance, but most of all it's just a really sweet, feel-good, nostalgic series.
