I got home too late to start catching up with Secret Relationships. I'm in a good mood after a party so this calls for smth more fun rn. Guess I'll be binging it tomorrow in between art class and other stuff.

I'm almost finished "Fish Upon The Sky". I'm probably the only one in this group who hasn't watched it yet. Anyways, I'm really lovin' it and would even call it underrated (MDL 7.7). Pond & Phuwin are magically good - and since I know them first and foremost for their more serious roles in "Never Let Me Go", it's fun to see them starring in a comedy.
I'm currently watching the second of last Friday's first two episodes of "Love Casting" (iQiyi but not in Europe, so I'm VPNing to the USA) in preparation for tomorrow's next two episodes. Although I'm not generally a fan of reality TV (not least because of so much blah-blah), I'm getting more and more engaged as I get to know the cast (contenders and commentators). It's an original concept: eight contenders forced to live in close proximity, but rather than trying to find true love, they're trying to find their BL acting partner. (Well, maybe they find true love, too - who knows.)
It might sound a bit like "DMD Friendship" but to me, it's actually much more like "The Boyfriend". I dearly loved "DMD Friendship" (including the recent "It Takes Two"), but to me "DMD" feels very structured (in a good way) and with largely pre-determined outcomes (also not necessarily bad), and with very slick execution. "Love Casting", in contrast, feels much more spontaneous, i.e. it gives me the impression that that there are no pre-determined outcomes. The mix of contenders (some even over 30yo, gasp!) also feels more like "The Boyfriend", and it switches back and forth to a group of commentators just like "The Boyfriend". Needless to say, "Love Casting" focuses much more specifically on acting skills, which is itself quite interesting as some of the contenders have acting experience while others are complete novices. Anyways ... so far, I quite like it.
P.S. One of the contenders is the Canadian guy who did the interesting Youtube video which Chun Mo posted back on Nov. 16 (p. 1455) about his experiences as a first-time BL actor (i.e. in filming this series). Here's the link again: https://youtu.be/SBRYLWg0Ork He's an interesting element in this mix because, although he's Chinese-born, one can see him throwing in lots of English words and also struggling with reading (although this might be more because Taiwan uses Traditional rather than Simplified). Anyways, having a Canadian thrown in adds an interesting dimension.

I hope all the Thai crime and horror BL's come out soon (like goddess bless you from death, dare you to death, melody of Secrets, etc).. Im so burnt out and tired ofthe cute and comedy ones. I don't want silliness, naivety, character-growth based or aegyo dramas rn. GIVE ME CHEMISTRY, GIVE ME A SOLID PLOT. My bl heart yearns for a story with a proper plot as the focus point and romance as a delicious side😭😭😭
