Eye Contact - episodes 4 -5

I fast tracked and watched episode 5 as well and I am having a hard time finding where to place my mind.

After watching episode 5 I have little to no regard for episode 4. All I have to say about episode 4 is that Nu pissed me off briefly.

Anyway, episode 5 is all about Jorn and Chain for me. I do not know whether to place my mind on the path of Dangerous Drugs of Sex, Addicted Heroin the novel or Love Syndrome: The Beginning, but I will need to place it along one of these story-lines for me to digest what happened. Jorn kidnapped and chained Chain to a bed. Drugged him with an aphrodisiac (it would seem), and proceeded to have sexual intercourse with him (rape him). Chain escaped when he refused to take medicine and Jorn had to take him to the hospital; where he escaped from. How do I frame my mind to digest their story within the context this series had created?

All this happened in the penultimate episode; according to MDL this series has only 6 episodes, so how do they wrap all of this up in one finale, plus the brewing situation with Nu's mother, not to mention the possible relationship break-down between Nu and Sun with the preview showing both kissing other people after Sun made some deal with Chain.

Let me reserve all my analysis until the finale (where I will most likely not be filtered.)

Eye Contact - episodes 4 -5

I haven't started this yet, but gosh, that sounds like quite a mess. Now you've got me curious!

First two episodes of "Ball Boy Tactics" dropping on Gaga today. Looks cute, so I think I might start on it.

Is this a sports bl?

I love sports shows lol (but I don’t watch irl sports 🤣)

@RXinw

now I’m desperate to see how eye contact ends! I must admit I read your spoiler even though I haven’t watched ep 5 and I also don’t know what to make of that. I thought this was just going to be your typical mediocre university BL story. I guess not.

 MagesticBL:

Hey, can I ask how long you all have been in this club or when you joined? (Only if you remember, no stress!)

Guessing 2.5 years.

Everyone was saying how much they liked About Youth, so I watched it. I loved it! Sweet, touching, comforting, but with real depth. I’m not sure I found the transformation of the strict parents believable, but I thought everything else was realistic, despite following formula. It really moved me. I will definitely be rewatching this one. Just lovely.

Does anybody wanna share their thoughts on The next prince? I think I like it a lot, they put a lot of effort and budget on it and it shows more with each new episode!

I'm really enjoying it. Just as I enjoy the juxtaposition of old and new architecture found in Boston, TNP gives me a similar feeling. Except that they are in a bubble in Emmaly, which is steeped in tradition, yet cell phones and other technology exists within its wall. The costumes and setting are beautiful. They really highlight NuNew princely attributes, and Zee looks good in anything so far: tight military garb, loose shirt, bathrobe.

About Youth

So glad you loved it! Yeah, Ye Guang's parents are waaay over the top to the point of detracting from the story (i.e. a bit less here might have been more)  ... but Mama Xu, one of my favourite moms in any BL, more than makes up for it.

 RXinw:
I did not know that they are a couple in real life, or am I misreading this? If you know better please do provide clarity.

RE: BIllyBabe. My very personal opinion: They act like a couple, not just a CP doing fan service.

Question: Nu’s father in Eye Contact played a great dad character in something else, but I am blanking on what and he is not listed in the credits. Please help.

(re "Ball Boy Tactics") The protagonists are athletes, so sort of. I suspect that there'll be more actual sports (basketball) in future episodes.

My preliminary verdict after today's first two episodes: Not brilliant or distinguished (polite way of saying rather flimsy and cliché), and definitely not in the top tier of KBLs, but it's cute and an easy watch. (I might be slightly biased: I like shy, quiet pureboys, even though this doesn't fit the profile of a former celebrity athlete.)

I 100% agree! I'm so shocked by the grace of NuNew, he shines of his own light! They're both otherwordly in this series, for real. I think I read somewhere that they collaborated with a famous costume designer and the result is indeed amazing. I'm obsessed. I also like the mixing of architecture and cultures in the overall settings and ways of portraying regal manners. Another notable thing for me is the opening sequence: my sister is a cg artist so I'm pretty familiar with cg animation, and I think that was so good and cute! Truly well done, never seen before in a thai drama as of my experience.

I just caught up with the current episode! I'm so glad this is a 14 episode series because it seems to me that if done right, they have a lot of material to work with!

The Next Prince Ep 5

Just this.

GAHHH seriously!! We have so many episodes, I can't wait to see how much the plot will be plotting. There will be drama for sure and a lot of intrigues, we still have to learn a lot about the families and the other characters like the young princes. In my humble opinion, the grandpa is shady.

I just watched the movie Long Time No See. It was on my ptw list for awhile but then I saw it’s leaving GagaOOlala soon so i thought I’d better watch it. It was excellent! It is quite violent (it’s about a hitman) but very well-done. I loved the MLs and the combination of complexity and simplicity in the story. I rarely watch BL movies (usually I watch series) but this was so worth it.

it looks like this was actually a Strongberry web mini series originally but it works well as a movie. If it sounds up your alley watch it while you can.

Hi, I'm glad you liked it, it was my first kbl and I think I rewatched it a few times too. It stuck with me, at the time of its release it was a pleasant novelty. Also Strongberry has quite never let me down so far. I always recommend it to anyone.

Sweetheart Service  EP 5

19 minutes of cuteness!

When they fell on the bed, then got up and were shy and kept bumping into each other, lol.
