My Stubborn

rough week. The third act break up is always painful, but Boat and Oat are really selling how tortured these characters are over their love for each other. I am glad Sorn has finally admitted his feelings, but it seems Jun won‘t give him the chance to prove it since Jun thinks he’s been rejected. I hate it when couples misunderstand each other so badly like this. I hope they reconcile soon because I don’t know if I can go another week without any SornJun spice! Lol. Also what’s up with the second couple? It was nice to see them interact more but their storyline hasn’t been developed enough. I hope that gets remedied.

This week was already episode 9! Three more episodes. I hope they do a good job wrapping everything up. Despite some flaws I have really loved this show. Yes, the spice is great but I also love BoatOat. I think they show everything that’s unsaid really well. In general I’ve been impressed with their ability to convey so many feelings throughout. Plus they’re both beautiful.

I am eagerly awaiting next week’s episode.

I have generally been impressed with Sukfilm and their success using the short form structure, but a lot of their endings are inadequate or clearly setups for a part two. Still, Checkered Shirt was great until it left the ending open. I also watched a GL called kiss the hater which I liked a lot. I didn’t watch that weekly but rather altogether. Checkered Shirt I watched weekly and every time I watch mission to the moon I think they need lessons in short form from Sukfilm. I hope Wrong Number is good too.

OMG. That’s so many buuut that’s awesome. My list also doesn’t include some anime I have watched too. I dont know many that are from the countries you listed.  I mostly just watch the ones from Thailand, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.  I have doubled into the Filipino ones, but I haven’t really found one that I love.  If you have any great recommendations from those countries, I will take them.

I have no memory of the post you are referring to 🤣 🤣 🤣 I say a lot of things on here. Which countries did I make reference to?

Happy Father's Day

I here by present to you my dad

Exclusive Love episodes 1 - 4

Wang Zhan's brother is pissing me off. Why is it that Chinese characters often think that the best course of action to "protect" family is to lie to them and freeze them out in a most cruel fashion; and compounding this irritating situation, the brother is forcing Wang Zhang to bend to his demands without any apparent explanation.

Personally there are very few things that get me angry, while there are a plethora of things that irritate me, but me being irritated does not last that long and is not such a big deal compared to me being upset about something. Nothing angers me more than being lied to. It is not the lie itself that angers me, but is it the insult to my intelligence. It is the fact that one is attempting to take me for a fool and manipulate me. I have ended close relationships because of this because trust when I find out all care and reason goes out the window; anything I say after that is meant to be vicious, disrespectful and relationship ending. Hence, the situation in this series is pissing me off, I do not give a damn how sick the brother is. Lying does more harm than good.

Sorry, I had to rant. Anyway, aside from my irritation I am enjoying this series so far.

Lmfaoo!!! You had mentioned that you’ve watched some BL series from Vietnam and other countries. I can’t remember which ones but I know they aren’t the common ones a.k.a. Thailand, Korea, or Japan or Taiwan. If you have any good recommendations, let me know.

Exclusive Love - finale

I feel as if they took 12 episodes, 30 minutes each, as a challenge to see how long they could drag out a story-line. I am so annoyed. The MDL rating this series has makes a lot of sense.

6/10

My Stubborn - episode 9

YES! YES! YES! Jun! That's my boy!

June stood up on business. He held his ground for dignity and self respect! Finally stopped thinking with his dick and instead used his head. He acknowledged his complicity in playing Sorn's games, and held Sorn accountable as well.

As for the second couple, Champ has no idea what they are and neither do we.

Looking forward to the next episode, and I am hoping that Jun does not cave early.

P.S this is maybe the first episode without an NC scene of any sort lol

This is the most shocking thing of all. ("Who are you, and what have you done with my series?")

 Hannah:
If you have any good recommendations, let me know.

From your watch list, it looks like you're not averse to cute 'n fluffy, so I will venture a recommendation from Vietnam: the recently aired "Fight For Love" (Youtube "RL Studio" channel). I loved it - and not only for the Viet-cuties!

This was the best RL Studio production to date, but some of the earlier ones were also pretty cute, especially "Stupid Boys, Stupid Love" (feels rather low-budget but cute and charming love story with sweet ending) and "Stupid Genius" (cute 'n fluffy school comedy BL, weak as love story but very sweet and entertaining group-of-friends / coming-of-age comedy with surprise epilogue, which is absolutely essential to grasp what really happened).

Some of the Vietnam stuff is too lakorny for my taste, but here are few others I especially liked:
"Hey Dude, I Love You"(20-min. Youtube short)
"The Lost Ring"(34 minutes, was on Gagaoolala but unfortunately gone)
"My Goofy Deskmate"(Vietnam 2023, 18 x 10-15 min. vignettes, Youtube „Phim Đam Mỹ Hay Nhất“) – pure school BL fluff with zero plot, but really sweet, funny and adorably cute with five really great characters (two BL couples plus the girl)

In terms of other non-MDL countries:
"Love of the Sea"(Cambodia, 2 short episodes on Youtube free) was a memorably good slice-of-life BL in a coastal Cambodian fishing village
"Pure Vanilla" (9-min. short on Gagaoolala) was reasonably good

Thank you @p43425 and @OnyxTheHedgehog - I'm glad to know someone finds my scribbles interesting 😀

Weekly dose of weekday dramas:

Trapped in Osaka ep3
To my surprise, I love this drama so far. It's short, it's low-budget, but the story and the feelings are there.

Mission to the Moon eps 16-18
It's a slow-burn for sure. I hope, since Vee finally understood what he's lost, that now the story will move forward, because my patience is wearing thin.

Sparkle in Your Eye eps 5-6
Fang Runzhi is circling around our couple like a hungry shark. I hope Su Yi won't be tricked by him. Director Yi got dumped by Su Bai and he's taking it out on Su Yi. Also, I thought acting in a film was supposed to be a one time thing for Su Yi and now it seems like he's going to join the industry. Hmm...

Eye Contact ep 6
What the heck have I just watched? I was wondering how they're going to wrap everything up in just one episode and the answer is: they didn't. None of the couples' issues got resolved, everything is up in the air. What even was the point of making this series? I bet they are already thinking about making season two and I just hope it's not going to end up the same way My Engineer did. Heh, I don't even know what to tell you anymore. This is a BL where the only happy couple was an F/F couple. Jon and Chain - I thought we've put those kinds of plotline behind us, but appareantly I was wrong. This kind of plotline was the reason I've stopped watching slap&kiss lakorns altogether. Nu and Sun are no better. One is henpecked by his mum and secretly engaged, the other is randomly cheating on the man he supposedly loves (he wasn't under influence of either substances or strong emotions, literally had no excuse). I still don't know why the high school boys were even there at all. This series was a complete mess.

Reset ep 2
Let me take a deep breath. The first thing that popped in my mind when I saw Thada in that swimming pool was "twarz to mu chyba Michał Anioł dłutem haratał" (he has a face that looks like it was carved by angels). Why is Thada/Peterpan so good looking in this series? Plus, the man that he is... Thada is not a snack, he's a full-course dinner and I'd be eating him up if I were Armin. Okay, let's stop here.
This really reminds me of PMR, I bet in the end this another chance at life will be all about finding the love Armin deserves instead of getting a revenge. Armin is acting reckless and unreasonable, accusing people from the past of things that haven't happened yet, but let's not forget - he just got betrayed by two people he loved the most, his lover and his best friend, he got killed by who-knows-whom - no wonder the man is losing his mind. I put all my trust in Thada. That scene where Thada took Armin for the audition... The comedy was unexpected, but not unwelcome (for me). I literally started singing "I Need a Hero". And are we getting another childhood connection plotline, since Thada clearly knew Armin even before he became an actor? This series is exciting, I want more.

Sweetheart Service ep 6
The feelings are growing, Yooha already got to meet Minwoo's parents. Yes, let's go! They're so cute. I just wonder about the barman and Jaemin - when is their story going to develop?

(weekend dramas coming up soon - after I come back from work)

Season of Love in Shimane - episode 5

OH.MY.GOD

What did I just witness between P and Pan. Where did all this chemistry come from!?!?

I am being very honest when I say not even in some of the series I have given 10s, I have never seen such levels of intimacy. I genuinely felt as if I was intruding on a private scene between a couple. I am wondering now if they are a real couple. I had to look away and adjust my position on the couch because my body was reacting. The dialogue and actions - romance simply put. That was some teenage type love right there.

Pan - "I want to stay up all night and talk to you."

From here it all began to feel and look very real. I could not play a romantic interest as an actor because after a scene like this I would have to ask, "what are we?", as the direct yelled cut.

Listen, I may sound like I am being extra, but I felt some things watching P and Pan during the final scenes of this episode.

It was not even a NC scene fully. It was a combination of NC and intimacy at a dangerous level; the dialogue, touches, laughs in between and kisses 🥹

When Pan asked P to talk to him in a cute Thai manner my heart stumbled. Then these sentences spoken by P:

"I will stay up all night talking to you ka, baby.", "Are you feeling good ka?", "Mine is all hard.", "Would you like me to put it in."

Can we talk about P playing with Pan's nipples throughout the scene. Like, sir! I need someone to come and play with my body like this!
