I'm taking a little break from posting here but will likely pop in to read the thread occasionally and track a few dramas I'm watching for sanity purposes. The new BL's and the ones coming out may have to wait until August. I'll catch up then.

My father passed away. My first travel stop was to see him the very next day. Instead I'll be going to his burial soon. Then I'll be traveling til the end of July, all family visits, so even though I thought about canceling everything, it's actually better to be with family rn. Otherwise I would be alone. My family convinced me to continue, and even talked me into keeping my wish to go to a SKZ concert next week. My brother is going with me. even though he's not a stay. The concert will be a welcome relief and bright spot in what's been a really difficult year so far.  

I'll be back after a bit. Happy BL drama watching.

PS...I do feel blessed that I very recently talked to my dad on the phone and we exchanged loving words.

on Ramil and Paytai's relationship

I'm loving all the characters, but Ramil and Paytai are the ones whose stories spark my curiosity the most along with the certain mystery surrounding Prince Calvin.

Since yesterday I have watched:

memoir of rati

I thought this was off to a great start. I liked that Great and Inn were interacting right away. Their chemistry is still 🔥. The plot set up was interesting and filled with lots of twists already. i am intrigued. I love the period costumes. The political background of WWI should also be interesting, although I know nothing of what happened to Thailand during this period.

the Bangkok boy (last week’s and this week’s)

I put off watching this sometimes because this show is beautiful but also heartbreaking. There is so much violence and tragedy in the lives of these characters, and I am afraid for what will happen to them. I’m worried the ending will be sad. But the show is well-done and I’m finding it moving. The NC scene (finally!) was powerful imo. their sexual intensity reflected the intensity of their lives. I also think it showed a kind of desperation for love and pleasure the their lives are lacking. Whether that desperation also reflects the fact that they know their love may be destroyed by violence and manipulation at any moment is also a possibility. In any case I really liked it the NC scene. it was graphic but considering the graphic violence of the show in general, it was fitting. (Plus I like graphic NC scenes, if that isn’t clear already.) I also liked the symbolism of the red paint, which i believe RXinw already mentioned last week. I also like the GL pairing kissing scenes. I think this couple conveys a lot without words and I like their chemistry. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for what’s coming next in this series.

pit babe 2 (last week’s and this week’s)

I didn’t watch this last week because the show was starting to annoy me. there are still annoying elements but I wasn’t bored catching up, and I enjoyed most of the character interaction. The plot is a bit all over the place but so was season 1. Like other viewers, I’m most loving the side couples. I feel particularly invested in both KentaKim and NorthSonic. Hopefully we’ll get more of them in the weeks to come. Also please don’t leave Pete all alone again at the end.

the ex-morning

This show is getting better, in large part due to more sexual interaction between the main pair. One thing I’m am learning about myself while watching is that to no one’s surprise a show isn’t as fun to watch when I don’t find the leads attractive.

the next prince

Others have discussed This week’s episode so I don’t feel a need to give a full assessment. But i do get fixated on certain details that I feel obliged to mention. In the RamilPaytai NC scene, which was generally smoking, Ramil is handcuffed at one point. While not impossible, it is extremely unusual for the dominant partner in a BDSM couple to engage in submissive behavior. So I thought this made it less realistic. I did like Ramil stopping the whip though when he thought of Paytai being actually whipped by his father. i liked how this reflected his love and concern as well as his desire for their sex play to be something different from real violence.otherwise I agree with RXinw about Khanin’s participation in the rally. And I really want to see more progress with the NetJJ couple. I’m still loving Chakri and all his reactions to CharanKhanin.

Knock Out

i’m clearly following too many shows right now because I can barely remember the details of this week’s episode. I do know I still liked it and I’m still loving the chemistry between GunnerNice. I am really wondering what will happen next Plot-wise, though. I really can’t see where it’s headed.

I have 20 shows in my currently watching list. All but 3 are airing weekly. I want to start some of the recent Japanese ones that have come out but I’m already overwhelmed watching so many shows at once.
