Meet you at the blossom: I'm a sucker for historical dramas, and this one had me hooked from the very first episode. Totally worth wrecking my sleep schedule just to binge this series to the very end. I know it was a collaboration project, but it’s such a shame it only got 12 episodes unlike most Chinese series. Honestly, I’d happily watch another 30 if they made them. The production quality was top-notch and the cast had such strong chemistry.
DogBro: The show kicked off with a warning saying “subtitles in the making and will be available soon.” Why release the show when the subtitles haven’t gone through an LPE yet? Kinda kills the vibe. Surprisingly though, the Portuguese subtitles are nearly flawless, super coherent, and clearly went through some MTPE, which makes the viewing experience much more enjoyable. As for it looking like a dog food commercial as @p43425 said, I’ve kind of accepted that, especially with smaller productions that rely on investors to get things made. It’s part of the Thai drama experience, I guess. Even The Next Prince was out there showing off some kind of hair product, I think. And that’s a show with a much bigger budget! So I just brush it off.
The technical side definitely needs work, though. What’s really getting on my nerves is the overload of sound effects. But again… that seems to come with the Thai package. So I just brush it off too. If I brush off one more thing, I might as well not even watch the show. 😂 It’s true, but once I start a series, I can’t quit.
My Magic Prophecy: As someone who's into all things mystical and esoteric, I’m already hooked on this series. It dives into a theme that’s rarely explored in the BL world blending supernatural elements with scientific skepticism. I love the whole idea of an unexpected romance between logic and intuition, science and spirituality. It’s bound to add some real depth to the story.
Revenged Love: Today’s episode totally broke my heart because of Chi Cheng, especially that final scene. He knows exactly what WeiWei saw, but can’t explain the full story because of the promise he made to his mom. That’s such a heavy secret to carry, and I have a feeling WeiWei’s definitely not going to take it well. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode!
Reset: OMG, what was that episode?! Was it all just a dream? Maybe K'Thada’s way of coping with grief? But then… why did it feel like in Armin’s nightmare he’s the one who gets shot? Are they stuck in some kind of loop? I seriously hope that fall gets cushioned somehow, because I refuse to accept any ending that doesn’t have K'Thada and Armin happy and together. Wenai and Janine? I don't think I've ever rooted so hard for a romance to work out. Let them be endgame. By the way, dibs on Wenai. 😏
