                              10 - Loved it!
                                          9 - Liked it a lot
                             8 - Good
                                       7 - Just Okay
                                                 6 - Not very good
                                     5 - Just bad

This is my rating scheme:

Production - 2

Writing - 2

Acting - 2

Intimacy - 2

Music - 1

Special 10 scene - 1

Regarding the special 10 scene - if I see a scene that connects so well with me I will give the entire series a 10 despite everything else; meaning if I am on any episode and a special 10 scene come ups the series will automatically be rated a 10 even if I was planning to give it a 6. Hence the special 10 scene is a veto rating. Therefore if a series is exceptional but I did not connect with a special 10 scene then it can only get a 9.

There has only been one except where I could not in good conscience give a series a 10 despite there being a special 10 scene. I do not even remember the series lol.

I also use an hybrid version of my rating scheme for series with multiple BL plots such as We Are and Perfect 10 Liners.

Ah so I might be the outlier for rating something a 2 lol

I understand rating things lower as years go by. So far I think for me it's the opposite? I have given several 10s this year and RevLove is about to be one of them. Even if it's not perfect and I'm aware of that, I still have had the most fun I ever had with this series and it will forever have a special place in my heart and live rent free in my mind. <3

This is the speechless rating lol Although from my perspective, not giving a rating is not really helpful. One might ask "did he not know what rating to give or did he forget about rating this one? maybe this title is actually good" instead of being like "well this series is definitely horrible, look at the no rating he gave!". I would have given a 1 rating for that GL short film I watched, I was that appalled by it. But in the end I remembered I do have a "no score under 2" rule so I refrained from doing that.

I know there are some good scenes in BL out there, but I am not sure if all of those would classify as special 10 ones that is basically an automatic ticket to a full 10 score.

I will go with Trapped in Osaka which has a MDL rating of 7.2. Yes it was a very short series, but for what little time they had I feel like they packed a lot into it. The story had some depth delving into the topic of grief and what it can do to one's mental health. The romance aspect is also good with the MLs having chemistry and natural scenes. 

Agree. For what it was, "Trapped in Osaka" was quite good: fascinating, funny at times, quite moving at times, and decent acting. Definitely underrated.

I've not yet watched "Sketchy Job" (from the same company), but I definitely will.

I do it in more of a personal protest; reserving my contribution to the overall MDL rating as I found the series or movie to be grossly lacking in substance. I do not really consider the perception of others when they browse my list, mostly because I do so many reviews here, so I limit my consideration of perceptions to the members here. What I do pay attention to is my profile lol

A special 10 scene is more of a personal experience of a scene for me, so there are no objective standards defining one. It really could be any scene I feel is palpable enough to ignite my feelings.

Some examples of special 10 scenes I have had over the years are:

The NC scene in episode 7 of To Be Continued

The first time Pharm and Dean meet in the grocery store; their first kiss scene - Until We Meet Again

The emotional rooftop scene between Pran and Pat - Bad Buddy

Their last dance, their last NC scene before Jom disappeared - I Feel You Linger in the Air: Uncut Version

Birthday Cake scene - Bed Friend: Uncut

The bridge scene - We Best Love: No. 1 For You

Just to name a few lol

Yeah, I get it now. I feel like I have a few of these as well, but I don't make it a rule to give a 10 to all of them. Honestly my 10s are 13 BLs and they are 25 series total. Some of those have flaws but overall I enjoyed them a lot so they can't go lower. Or at most a 9.5. I feel the difference is not that big between a 9.5 and a 10. I don't feel like reviewing all my scores however, it is what it is. They reflect my thought process over the years after all.

RevLove is somewhere above a 10, it's got a ⭐ from me and that's a new concept for my scoring system.

"Nothing can compare even if it's flawed" is the new rating above a 10. Because even if it's not perfect, I had my time with it and found it to be so funny and good for me. ❤️

Okay I have added my new scoring system to my profile, it's as follows:

Scoring system:
10 ⭐ -> above a 10, look out for these, there are so few of them in my list
10 -> perfect? for me obviously, every score is subjective
9.5 - 9 -> lacks something to be perfect, but not to be scored lower either
8.5 - 8 -> good enough for recommendations
7.5 - 7 -> good, not stellar, maybe some recs but not all
6.5 - 6 -> fine, could have been good but they decided to mess it up instead
5.5 - 5 -> average, nothing much to say about it
4.5 - 4 | 3.5 - 3 -> this is where bad quality overall is scored
2.5 - 2 -> absolutely awful in almost if not all ways possible
1.5 - 1 -> don't use these scores at all

I think this is fine, I might disappear it from my profile however, who knows.
