Shine: This series keeps surprising me with every episode though honestly, I shouldn’t be surprised anymore. BOC always promises excellence, and they deliver every single time. Shine feels like a living painting. It’s so visually poetic that I almost feel transported to Thailand in that era. Every character is beautifully layered and complex, but I have to highlight Mile in the last two episodes. He brings this quiet intensity to Tanwa, balancing vulnerability and strength with such artistic finesse. The way he moves between tender moments and scenes charged with political and emotional tension is just effortless. It gives the character real emotional depth. But that warning Tanwa gives Trin about staying away from his father sent chills down my spine. I really hope it’s not foreshadowing something dark ahead.
BL Challenge Day 25: Favorite side character of 2025 so far:
1. Chakri is one of those supporting characters who, even with limited screen time, manages to leave a lasting impression. His simple gestures and genuine performance added emotional depth to the series and helped shape its atmosphere in a quiet but powerful way.
2. Lin Xiao Yang brings a soft yet striking presence to Secret Lover. She adds a gentle touch to the story without ever feeling shallow. Sensitive and observant, she has this quiet empathy that makes her feel like a silent guardian of everyone’s emotions. Her scenes may be subtle, but they carry real weight capturing the complexity of someone deeply woven into the story, even if she’s not at its center. It’s the kind of role that demands restraint and precision, and she absolutely delivers.
