RXinw:

I have not encountered much romance so far, and hopefully that remains through to the end. I have very little interest in straight romance these days.

you remind me of my friend who says she’s not interested in any straight Asian dramas anymore. It’s BL or nothing!

I find I always choose BL to watch first over GL or straight drama, but when I do finally watch other shows I still like them if they’re good. Still, I’ve been trying to get through two straight kdramas and one Thai GL for months!

@Ju Moon

thanks for your heartfelt review of Memoir of Rati. I agree with everything you said!

My only objection to the drama is the ending wasn’t quite enough for me. But I’m not saying that’s a spoiler because I sometimes think most endings disappoint me. I don’t like shows to end when I love the characters because i don’t want to say goodbye. Also unless a show ends dramatically (or with an NC scene) it somehow is so much less intense than the action of the series. so i think I might just have a problem with endings. Because it was a great show.

Shine (Orchestric Ver.) - episode 6

I am declaring a 10 tonight!

This entire episode is a special 10 scene. It is raw, gritty, and real. No sugarcoating of events.

These scenes left a significant impression on me:

  • The protest
  • The fight between the second couple (clash of social issues and love)
  • Victor coming out
  • Victor confessing (excellent acting, I could feel the weight of the emotions in that moment)

They switched lol

The more I reserve my full thoughts until the finale, the longer that future post gets. Hopefully I will not have to do it in parts lol

LOL

This so me. It is hard to go back to straight dramas after watching BLs.

 Ju Moon:
Memoir of Rati:  This show had everything I love in a period drama. It’s visually stunning, the costumes are flawless, and the sets beautifully capture early 20th-century Thailand. The writing is sensitive, and the cast delivers such powerful performances that the whole thing feels like a hidden gem.

Looks like I need to prioritise watching this series after my trip to wuxia dramas ends.

 Blissy:

I want to join

Welcome!!

I just finished Pit Babe S01, and Im in love with Pavel.  Cant wait to watch S02.  My next drama is The Next Prince. I have always been fascinated by ZeeNunew.  Lets see if they can deliver in this one.

Has it finished? I cant do the waiting for an episode every week thing so im waiting to binge watch instead. I liked the leads in Wandee Goodday, looking forward to them again.
