Dramatic Deb:
I've seen the trailer and even cast interviews. Am I the only one who doesn't see the same chemistry level as was in KinnPorsche ? Im waiting for it to finish airing before I binge watch.
I see what you mean. I think two things:
Firstly, I think it is a matter of familiarity versus new. We have experienced Mile and Apo before in KinnPorsche, so we know they have good chemistry, whereas we are not familiar with the second couple and are experiencing them for the first time. They indeed have amazing chemistry, so a lot of focus is given to their interactions, hence the new chemistry is getting more attention than the familiar chemistry. I think because of this fans have a higher expectation from Mile and Apo; they are now looking for more from Mile and Apo outside of chemistry - acting and the ability to convey the emotions of the characters; they are looking for something deeper than chemistry.
Secondly, I think Be On Cloud truly made a breakthrough with the "second couple syndrome" this time around. In KinnPorsche Vegas and Pete had a large fan base, but Kinn and Porsche still held the attention that a main couple does. In 4 Minutes the second couple made a more significant impact than the main couple for various reasons, but the main couple still had some main couple attention. However, this time around the second couple has truly captured viewers and has significantly led attention away from the main couple in such a way that it feels as if their positions are switched. When you look at how social media is reacting to this series one would think Mile and Apo are playing the second couple and not the main.
Anyway, this is what I think.
