Shine (Orchestric Ver.) - episode 7 (penultimate episode)
Bella ciao - this song came to mind while watching this episode.
This episode is a heavy one. The emotions and events cut deep. There are some triggers in this episode.
After watching this episode I feel a weight on my mind; a reflective atmosphere clouds my mind as I think back on what happened in it, and how those events echo the realities of the present and past.
You do not finish this episode with a smile; you leave with a somber feeling.
Even though I have a lot to say, and will be saving it for the finale review, I must point out the stark similarities between the events in this episode and what happened this past week in Nepal. It certainly makes you wonder if this series is really just a reflection of the past or a reflection of a constant present.
Thank you for posting this. I appreciate the insight and also the warning about the emotional weight of this episode. It was a rough one. I cried a lot, especially when Apo broke down, but also Victor’s parents. It is so sad and frustrating to watch, knowing politics does work this way sometimes. I also want so badly for the characters to understand each other and the web they are caught in, so as not to place blame on each other. That is clearly hard to do, though. I hope at least there will be some reconciliation and resolution at the end, although now it doesn’t look hopeful
As usual the acting in this episode was superb, with so much being conveyed without words. Apo was especially wonderful but i really can’t say the others weren’t too. The music was also perfect, and lent so much to the emotional weight of each scene. No matter how this show ends, the quality has been top notch. I continue to be so moved each week.
side note: the credits say Fuaiz from 4Minutes is in this but I can’t recognize him. I assume he is one of Victor’s friends but I could be wrong. Has anyone recognized him or can point him out?
