Quantcast

Rearrange: Even though this series drags a bit at times, I’m really enjoying it. Today’s episode was the best one yet. That love confession was so beautiful. "If you had the chance to turn back time and fix just one thing, what would you choose?" I don’t think it’s about fixing something, not like Win saving Nut’s life, but more about finding closure. When adult Win dies, these were the lyrics playing:  "Being tired for so long, I endured and held on. No matter how much I loved, it all turned dark. Nowhere to go, no chance to meet again. I'll let my heart rest and leave you. I'll cut all strings, no attachment left. I'll love you without having to force it anymore." Win spent 27 years trapped in regret for never confessing his love to Nut, tied to a promise he couldn’t keep. I don’t think we’re getting a happy ending here.  The show has an alternate title (way better, in my humble opinion): ขอฟังอีกครั้งเพลงรักของเธอ — Let me hear your love song again. Win’s getting the chance to hear Nut sing to him, maybe for the last time. He finally got to confess, only to find out his love was returned (always was). Maybe now he can finally let go of the past and start living.  By the way, Win’s dad  😍  is hands down the best dad ever, while Nut’s dad 😡 ? Honestly, he could totally marry Uea’s mom. We still have two episodes left, so a lot can still happen.

Good news: The fansubber has now posted the final episode 12. I'm just starting to watch ...

I finished Kita-Kun: Our Shared Love. It was cute and sweet and I enjoyed watching it but it didn’t have much substance. I wish the relationships between Kita-kun and each lover were more developed and included a little more romantic storylines. Also the big mystery was a big reveal but then fizzled out. I still liked the bumpy but happy representation of a poly family, and of course Iwase Yoji was charming as ever to watch, even if he didn’t get enough screen time.

if you are interested in this BL-adjacent drama (one of the lovers is male, but no romance is really shown),  there is a link to a good fan-subber on the MDL page.

Your thoughts match mine. Thanks for saving me the trouble!

It was delightful to see Iwase Yoji (Takara from "Takara no Vidro") together with Mashiko Atsuki (Yoh from "Taikan Yohou").

Romancing the Ghost

You Are My Present

i finished both these short-form dramas. First of all, I don’t love short-form. Everything feels abrupt unless it’s done really well. I’ve actually watched quite a few short-form dramas and a lot of them are disappointing, as were these two. They both had potential but the stories did not have enough substance. UpPoom are still great actors but I feel like all the good reviews for You Are My Present are because people love UpPoom, not the story. Frankly, I didn’t think they had enough to work with.

As far as Romancing the Ghost, they threw in some NC scenes instead of developing the romance. This one had a more interesting concept and more interesting characters but the story was too abbreviated as was the ending.

i also find it really annoying that the short-form apps/channels charge so much and provide such limited content. I normally try to pay if possible to show fan support and encourage the production of more BLs but I cannot bring myself to keep paying for short-form. I don’t want more of them! But I have FOMO about BLs and end up trying to watch way too many. I don’t feel like it’s a waste of time, but i definitely prefer a drama to have At least ten-minute episodes, or to be able to watch it all in one sitting.

i will try to remind myself this the next time I get sucked into a short-form drama that is still airing or costs a lot.

It’s a happy ending but involving a time jump and not very fleshed out (for the main cp)

Sounds okay to me! I've watched 3 eps and so far I like it a lot.

Boring Love (2009) https://kisskh.at/16871-boring-love

one of the categories for the 2025 BL challenge is a title from 2005-2010. I found this old Thai BL movie on YouTube. Unfortunately the video quality with English subs is so bad it’s really hard to sit through.

i wrote a short review on the MDL page if you’re interested. It was basically cheaply made so not as good as it could have been. But it’s old, so who knows what kind of budget they could even get.

i’m surprised I never heard about this because it really set a standard for a type of story and for many tropes still used in BLs today. But maybe it’s just too old for most fans to know about it and/or it’s hard to access.

it seems like most lgbtq content from this time period tended to be pretty serious. Whereas this is more like a dated version of a current bl.

Useful tip for watching "Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island":
If at all possible, watch on a large screen in 4K resolution.
(1) The English subtitles are tiny and "hard", and this make them much easier to read.
(2) The cinematography is even more beautiful in 4K.

Regarding horror and supernatural BLs, there are (in addition to the above currently airing or upcoming titles) many many past titles, especially when defining "supernatural" broadly (reincarnation, vampires, ghosts, time travel, magical abilities, body swapping). Can you be a bit more specific about what you're looking for,  not only in terms of sub-genre but also heavier/thriller vs. lighter, or other elements you especially like?

Without knowing more about your tastes, my top recommendation right now would definitely be "Khemjira" (uncut version on iQiyi).

Ah, apologies. I meant the current or upcoming ones :)

Oh, my bad. Looking back, I see that you even wrote "upcoming".

Okay! thankss

This right here is doing smth to me. Nope it's not a sexy pose, but the fit is fire. I would love to wear it. Thee is doing everything he can to win Rati's heart, I love it! (IMO, one of the few highlights of Wandee Goodday was Great's sexy eyes, lol.)

I'm only halfway through Memoir of Rati and I've already added it to my Top BL Picks list.
