Speaking of trainwrecks, now starting episode 2 of "Lover Merman". (Just kidding. It's weak, but not in trainwreck territory ... not yet. And cuties with pretty island scenery is enough for me. Who needs good writing?)
I'm also starting today's episode 9 of "Khemjira", which is far from a trainwreck. While I'm not yet sure if this will turn out to be a masterpiece, it's all-around really really good - and as the love stories start to blossom, I'm getting more and more invested. (Have I mentioned how deeply in love I am with Namping?)
ETA: I even dreamed about Namping a few nights ago. Yes, I have it that bad.
Khemjira Episode 9Italophilia:
I just watched ep 9 and I'm a bit of a wreck. I knew from ep. 8 that Grandma Si was gone, but I didn't anticipate Thong and Ake's departure. I don't think Khem has had a chance to tell anyone of the revelations he had while underwater: Ramphueng's full story. IMO, Khem's guilt is not only the recent deaths but also stems from the original lies that led to Ramphueng's death. In his feeling of "I cannot let anyone else get killed," I also sense that if he did die, it would be justifiable. I'm not saying he wants to die, just that he can understand Ramphueng's anger which would be fully appeased since he's the last one.
Omg I cried so much in this episode. I knew grandma si was going to die but I still cried. And So many revelations of so much pain! At least we understand Rampheung’s grudge now. It seems enough generations of pain and death to make up for it, but losing a child is probably the worst pain there is so she has a reason to carry it for so long.
I didn’t want Khemjira to go but it’s the first time I felt a character was justified in breaking up to save the one they love from danger. Still, I don’t want Khemjira and Peem apart and I don’t want CharnJet in the friendzone! Also, someone has to figure out how to save Khemjira but I don’t see how yet. Too bad that monk didn’t help more.
kengNamping and TleFirstOne are all so lovely to watch! And they’re really selling their parts. im loving this show but still I want more from the couples! But I suppose I always do. lol.

You might like Romansing the Ghost. I thought it had its moments. But like you, I love some train wrecks. This wasn’t quite that, but I wasn’t good either. But cuties!
yes, Namping is so lovely, I can’t get enough either…well of any of them, really. I always think I couldn’t love a couple more than whomever is starring in my favorite show of the moment but then someone new comes along and I’m in love all over again. Domundi’s third generation couples are especially lovable. since Domundi has really been killing it this year let’s hope it continues for all their actors! But for now I am happily loving the stars of Khemjira.

Hello all, sorry I haven’t posted in a while. Thought I might pop in to rant about how crazy today’s ep of Khemjira was. I haven’t cried over a bl series in so long and this ep had me absolutely gutted. I feel bad for all of them and I understand where both Rampheung and Khem are coming from. I should’ve waited to watch this tomorrow because now my throat is sore after crying and I have a singing exam tomorrow :(
Does this series have quite a bit of horror elements? I stopped after the first part of EP 1, but I'm feeling the FOMO after soooo many members here are talking it up every week!! LOL 😵💫

I've been keeping up with a YT BL called The Guy Next Door which JUST got an MDL page, yay. It's not very good, unfortunately, and I'm having trouble following their convos. Seems like they're talking some type of secret lover's language. But I'll watch til the end cuz it's only about 5 mins a week.
Jeon Yu Bin was in Checkered Shirt and I really liked him. I liked him even more in My Damn Business.

Speaking of which, I'm struggling to decide if "Lover Merman" officially qualifies as a trainwreck: The production quality is superficially good, and of course the visuals are pleasing, but the writing is just so bad. (As to the weak acting, I'll make allowance for novice actors.)

I do love my BL re-watches, especially where fluffy comfort and top-tier cuties are involved. Now re-watching my favourite Viet BL "Fight For Love" (on Youtube).
