I'm also starting today's episode 9 of "Khemjira", which is far from a trainwreck. While I'm not yet sure if this will turn out to be a masterpiece, it's all-around really really good - and as the love stories start to blossom, I'm getting more and more invested. (Have I mentioned how deeply in love I am with Namping?)
I'm thinking more about this question of what's a "masterpiece" and what's a "trainwreck".
"Lover Merman" has an average MDL rating of 7.0, which is somewhat low but not really in proper trainwreck territory - so "vox populi" clearly says "not a true trainwreck". It'll be interesting to see how the MDL rating evolves as the series continues to air.
On the other hand, "Khemira" has an extraordinarily high average MDL rating of 8.6, which is among the highest rated BLs (I think 8.8 is the highest I've ever seen for a BL) - so "vox populi" is leaning towards "BL masterpiece".
You know me and trainwrecks with cuties. (Well, some but not all. There are trainwrecks that are just trainwrecks.)
Speaking of which, I'm struggling to decide if "Lover Merman" officially qualifies as a trainwreck: The production quality is superficially good, and of course the visuals are pleasing, but the writing is just so bad. (As to the weak acting, I'll make allowance for novice actors.)

I've been watching it too, and I don't like it either. I was initially really excited because of Jeon Yu Bin, but I just can't seem to like it at all. Even though it's only 5 min long, I'm having a really hard time watching it.
