Quantcast

Shine EP 6

I know I'm late to the party, but that's nothing new.  I decided today was a good day to complete this drama cuz I'm already feeling down (Today is the anniversary of my mother's passing, so actually it is a good thing to have this drama to cry about rn). I was going to wait until I finished the series before posting, but so much happened in this ep and it brought up so many thoughts and feelings about the past & present day politics, I was caught off guard.  I won't go into the political theme cuz I can't be objective enough to write about it and this is not the place to vent about stuff like that. 🤬

The whole cast is really killing it. Poor Victor. I care about him so much. I hope he'll be okay in the end. The tenderness in the scene when Trin & Tanwa get together for the first time (I think?) is so beautiful.

Things are starting to unravel for Lert & Naran, not that there was anything officially, of course. But still hard to watch. From the beginning I never really had realistic hope for them, but it has been very touching to watch how they expressed themselves to each other. Some of the most memorable scenes were with them. ❤️

The protest scenes are so realistic. It's like watching smth on the news irl, which partly contributes to the triggers, lol. Anyways, I hope to finally finish this series by the end of the day, with enough time for a few fluffy drama eps to make life feel okay again.

The first episode of "Until We Drown" is out. I don't know what to think about this one.

Ep 1 of Interminable was great. I really liked it and the story looks so interesting. Also Kaewta’s dancing was so beautiful. But I'm a little confused if they are ghosts, spirits or reincarnations. It looks like a mix but I'm not sure.

I watched the first episode of Until We Drown. I think it may be dark. Plus, is it really going to be a half-brothers love story? That might be too much. I’ll still keep watching though because I’m curious.

@Art Girl

yes, Shine is wonderful but intense. I sometimes choose sad stuff too when I’m sad already. I hope you will have a good cry but also find comfort in your dramas.

There are a few Reviews I’ve posted on here that I wish I’d saved. I’m starting to save my comments now since I can’t remember everything I’ve said but i think I also need to post more reviews on the actual show pages. How do you guys decide where to post your thoughts?

I still remember vividly the shows that have made the biggest impact on me but it’s still hard to review them again. It takes mental energy I don’t always have. I really want to write a full review of Shine, though. I don’t want to forget the impact it’s had on me.

one thing I find interesting is when a show I didn’t expect stays with me for a long time. This year that surprise has been The Bangkok Boy. I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s not even a favorite but clearly it affected me more than I thought.

I totally agree about The Bangkok boy : I don't really know why but it stills stucks with me 🤔

Same goes for Smells like green spirit (which is a fav).

Dora, you can do a search, using Google search. Try:

mydramalist.com BL Drama Lovers Club Dora ()

where you enter the name of the show in place of the parentheses.

The 4th result of my search "mydramalist.com BL Drama Lovers Club Dora reset" is below (it tells you to go to page 1901):

The 8th result is (go to page 2041):

Jun 30, 2025 — im so glad you're loving Reset too! It was a great episode this week, for the romance and the sex. PeterPond are so good together! Citação. dora.

That’s what put me off, but I read a few comments saying it might have been a translation error and that they are step brothers and don’t actually share blood, but that's just speculation for now.

When I finish a show I really liked or have strong feelings about, I usually write a small review on the list I’ve created. I would add only the dramas I’ve watched, to rank them but to also write something about them after finishing.

Sometimes, when I come back to them later, I feel like a stranger wrote them.

I only started doing this this year, before that I just wrote notes about what I liked, what I disliked and if the acting was good or not.

I’m usually not very expressive, so I often have very few things to say, even if I love a show. So a lot of the time, it just sounds repetitive, which is why I don’t think I would ever write a review on the main page lol. Also, my English is good, but not thaat good.

I understand how it feels . UWMA hits really deep. It’s been a long time since I watched it, but I remember how emotional it made me feel

Thank you, Dora.

I finished Shine as the sun went down, barely breathing through the last 2 eps and only at the end did I  burst into tears. It was a hard watch but I did it.

Major spoilers ahead:

Victor made the ultimate sacrifice, and I think he may have suspected what was to come. Krailert found the courage to use his voice to make a difference and I imagine Naran must had loved him even more after that.  But how sad that Krailert wasn't able to break free of the confines of a loveless marriage to be with Naran in the end. I can understand why, after losing his first love at the hands of that witch wife.

Trin & Tanwa made it through a rough couple of years to the growing old forever stage, which was a happy surprise. And in Hua Hin, a lovely spot for romance.

There's so much more that could be said. This is def a drama with a story that affects every individual in a unique and personal way. I for one will be thinking of Trin, Tanwa, Victor, Krailert & Naran stories whenever I hear the OST songs come on.

A 10/10  for an all-around really really well-done drama, BL or not, it's levels above many dramas.

How do you guys decide where to post your thoughts?

I've seen members post their comments on their personal feed page, or the review section of course, and like Sophie mentioned in her personal profile lists.  Italophilia's drama list has comments too.

There's even individual episode reviews one can post, leaving comments with a score.  The nice thing about that is no one can reply/respond beneath your comments/review.

The last place is the actual comment section of the drama page. Yikes! We're talking a war zone there.

I play it safe and only post here, unless my comments are neutral, but then I'm not writing reviews.

@Italophilia

thanks for the help with how to search. It does bring up many of my old posts. Unfortunately I’m still not quite finding what I want. (Maybe it doesn’t exist?) I’m slowly going through previous months of this group to see what I’ve written anyway. It just may take awhile.

It was an especially rough one for me.

Innocent I binged this 2 days ago and I absolutely loved it! It has a fresh and unique plot I haven't seen before. Acting was good and characters were captivating. I love the psychological genre, it's always very interesting to watch how disorders and mental health in general are portrayed. Cinematography and OST were also great! I just wish it was longer and more thoroughly presented.

That Summer ep 8 I still like the vibes, the characters and our two couples but I'm tired of the amnesia plot. I wish they hadn't done the ending of ep 8...

Peach Trap ep 1-2 Cute and fluffy. So far I like it. Subin is super cute here and doing a great job portraying Doha. I'm team bestie btw but I've a feeling Doha is gonna end up with team leader

Punks Triangle ep 5 was good as usual. The preview for the next episode looked interesting so I'm very excited for that

Re: Burnout Syndrome

Dew is one of the tallest in GMMTV and Gun is one of the shortest. Too cute.

They did great job for adding Dew to the love triangle 🤭

The Wicked Game ep7

really?! This show is so over the top. It’s a little too much for me but I want to see how it all wraps up. Still, I cannot imagine how it will end in a satisfying way.
