BL Drama Lovers Club

So, I'm back... for now just updating my list with what I've seen in the past few days.

What I finished until now:

- Pure Vanilla sequel -> watched the sequel while I was gone. the prequel was much better idk 7/10

- finished 2 dropped JBLs:

1. 10 Things I want to Do before I Turn 40 -> was better than expected but it tried to be serious by the end... it kinda failed at that. 7.5/10

2. Stay by My Side after the Rain -> listen, this was better than expected. Some annoying side characters, but overall, I liked the direction this went in. A more mature Japanese BL from 2025. 8/10

And I'm off to watch more. I actually simplified things and thought I should complete some dropped titles this year. As well as the BL watch challenge and GL one. :) All in due time.

If anything, the break I had from MDL made me realize I'm not ready to get out of social circles online, as much as I'd like to be more present in real life. IRL right now is boring tbh, so online is good, for now.

And I don't know about MDL admins being homophobic. I think I'll just be my bi self and see what happens. If me watching BL and GL annoys the homophobes on this site, then so be it. :)

And speaking of emerging trends: There seems to be a resurgence of school BLs, possibly fueled by the huge success of "Love Sick 2024", and Change2561 has just posted an official pilot for yet another called "Class Crush Crisis": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XFu1HodxrA  For those who like school BLs, it looks quite promising.

oh man, idk if I can do this. I love FirstKhao, their chemistry is fire, but I've never been able to finish any of their series and idk why. there seems to be a limit to how much fluff I can take, too. so maybe talking cats aren't for me. and I've been trying to wean off gmmtv shows anyway (with no success)

You're so right - great series, but it left everyone wanting more development of the two side couples. Maybe that'll happen in the upcoming "Peach and Me" special episodes (or sequel, whatever).

I don't know whether we'll get one or multiple episodes but yeah, I really hope they will.

I chose Class Crush Crisis partly just to see Putter an absolute cutie pie! The actor's MDL page says he's only 15 and this is the only drama listed. I had the thought I wouldn't go out of my way to watch school series this year and then he shows up. 

I have got to get back to work instead of scrolling IG and hanging out here, lol.  I'll leave with this eye candy! School Trip couple Hioki & Watarai.  😍😍😍 🔥

Cuz I watched the Grim Lover trailer this trailer for The Crow Club was in my YT feed. I watched it and thought it was also interesting but dark for me. I like the couple stories presented. There was a nice amount of kissing going on too!  

Maybe 2026 will be my year for trying BLs I'm normally uncomfortable with. No talking animals though, unless I hear the drama is exceptionally good.
