I'm the wrong one to ask: Although I have my preferred comfort zone (cute fluff with happy ending), I'm open to pretty much anything that's really really good, even genres I'm not usually so keen on (e.g. toxicity, horror, thrillers, abuse, tragic endings).
I saw some of you rated the series really highly, what's your thoughts on this one?
I've rated it an 8 but my taste has changed if I watch it now I would rate it lower for the reasons you have mentionned since I'm more mature now.
Mr P I don't know if you saw this it was posted by Porsche and people are saying that maybe it's a soft launching for his future pairing. Maybe people are overthinking but maybe not...
If it's really with his new partner I don't think it's Ohm.

Yeah I think 8 eps is definitely a maxium for this series as a whole, however now suddenly there seems to be so much still happening with the couples. They could have maybe progressed the plots bit faster in earlier eps.
Like I think the dept issue is now closed, but we have one ex showing up with the doctor going to get a bone marrow transitioned to his half?sister and the whole cancer treatment with Nava (which btw. had nothing about in the ep 7). I feel there is a lot of loose ends to be tied in a one single episode. 😅
don't forget the teaser that was at the end of ep 7 regarding Dindin confronting Tawan and his former career as a pilot... That's gonna be a 6-hours last episode ;-)
OMG I completely forgot that from the teaser... so either the last ep is going to super long or it's going to feel rushed. 🙈
Last weekend before starting Bad Buddy I finished Tharn Type (I had 3 eps left on hold)
i haven't watched bad buddy yet, it's on my long list of ptw lol. and i'm a toxic bl romance lover so i have tharn type as one of my faves. though admittedly, when i watched it for the second time, i just realized that tharn was also toxic. i initially thought it was just type lol.

Okay, so I think with this one bit consideration has to be given that it is getting to be in a BL industry context to be an older series. I think at the time when this was originally aired 2019 (I think I watched it originally somewhere around 2020/2021) these kinds of dynamics were not exactly uncommon, a lot of the series had to some degree questionable dynamics in them. There were also series with healthy dynamics, but as I said the opposite was not that uncommon.
I rewatched this during Christmas -25 and yeah I agree watching it today, a lot of it feels sus, but at the pandemic time when I originally watched it, it genuinely was one of the better series in terms of production quality, acting and story telling. The sequel too was pretty decent and getting a wedding at the time was something that not many series had due to a lot of them reflecting the real life situation that gay marriage didn't become legal in Thailand until 2024? (someone correct me if I remember this wrong). So with this one take it as a reflection of it's production time when watching it.

To be precise, the law was voted in 2024 and took effect on January 2025.

I honestly didn't like it. Type is a homophobe who acts high and mighty at times, while Tharn is (excuse my French) a total creep with rape-ish behavior. I don't understand how people liked the series since it shows Tharn forcing himself on Type, and Type being a complete ass who somewhat manipulates Tharn.

De rien I don't think it's Jimmy either but not because of the hand just because I think it's way too soon there will be too much blacklash. It's safer if they wait a few months before giving Jimmy or Ohm a new partner.
