Soul Mate | 9.5★ LOVED this omg it was so good. will absolutely be keeping an eye on this director in the future. i saw people having some mixed feelings about what the nature of their relationship was and i think there's definitely room for interpretation but for me, i read it as a gay romance. and a really good one :)

Although heavy, painful tearjerkers generally aren't my thing (albeit in this case offset with healing), I likewise thought it was excellent, especially on the strength of the superb lead actors. It's ambiguous bromance with some explicit but tangential gay story elements, definitely not "BL" in the usual sense. The story, as the title suggests, is not about romantic relationships.

Interesting question. Maybe we could compare and examine the data at the end of this year, lol. I wouldn't be a good judge though, since there are many I won't watch. Seems like toxic stories are the trend this year. 🤷🏻‍♀️
