I just talked about religion and went back to Wishing Upon the Shooting Star where I had paused in the middle of EP 8 RIGHT BEFORE the NC scene. I decided to try to watch it like the adult that I am when suddenly they were TOTALLY NAKED on the screen.

The NC scenes in WUTSS were so so hot, I had to re-watch them as a guilty pleasure. As Tiffany already mentioned, there is another NC scene in ep11 (with the second couple) and same level of hotness #hotpepper ;-)

No dead fish kisses here. 😆

I attempted to watch it soon after it aired, but dropped it at EP 2. At that time a couple of members convinced me to start it, saying how amazing it was. It didn't do anything for me. It felt depressing and I didn't connect to any of the actor roles. If I remember, I may not have understood the story very well. That hasn't changed right? Haha

Maybe I judged the show too quickly, idk. Maybe it gets more upbeat? At the time I couldn't keep watching. My mom had recently passed away and I needed light, easy on the brain kind of shows. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Payback - episode 3

The plot thickens 👀🍿

Jay continues to be a mysterious character. The fact that he is the main lead and we the audience, just like Sun, knows little to nothing about him only heightens the suspense and intrigue.

I find myself excited to watch each episode as they drop.

Definitely looking forward to seeing the next episode, especially with how this episode ended.

Wishing Upon the Shooting Stars - Finale

I already talked about the NC scenes 👀, so moving on...

I really like the MC and the second couple were pretty good. More times than not I don't enjoy island or country settings, but this time it worked for me. I like the main cast of characters. Angela is a hoot.

I would love to see the MLs in another drama. I love them together. It felt like they had a real connection or comfort level with each other. I focused on the romance and the relationship between father & son, cuz I was lost whenever supernatural things happened. I'm used to it (being lost) and since I really liked the rest it worked out okay for me.

If I have time and I'm not too tired I might start Winter Sun tonight. Or wait til tomorrow when my brain is more refreshed. That might be my only chance until I'm alone with the dogs.

Anyway, the point I want to make is that I am intrigued to see the conflict of religion and sexuality portrayed on screen particularly as it relates to Catholicism, especially given some prejudice and evil motives by the Catholic church to change narratives over the centuries by changing text in the Bible.

Oh you're going to get PLENTY of that! The cinematography is outstanding and paired with Fourth's incredible acting skills, it really pulls you into his character's struggles. It's already shaping up to be a masterpiece.

Moonlight Chicken is on the more serious side, although it definitely has lighter and happy moments. It is definitely “trauma/healing” trope more or less for both couples, so while it ends well, there are a lot of sad moments. Also not the best show if you’ve lost a parent. It is one of my favorite BLs and the first really quality Thai one I ever watched, so it has a special place in my heart. But I definitely cried multiple times. It was absolutely worth the watch for me but it may not be for you. If you consider watching it again I can give you other details that might help you decide. It is actually on my “cute and fluffy” list, not because it’s cute and fluffy but because there was enough sweetness to make it a comfort watch for me. I’ve watched it twice. Also EarthMix and GeminiFourth are great in it, as is Khao, as a supporting character.

I just finished. It wasn’t entirely what I expected and I have reasons not to be able to see the last two episodes clearly. I have treatment-resistant bipolar disorder, and even though my experience being bipolar is almost nothing like his, I still have very strong opinions about it. So rather than try to assess the series on my own, I will wait to see what others have to say.

I will say this: I don’t think this is really a dark romance as much as a story that has intense and upsetting elements, which are later explained through mental illness. Clearly whoever rewrote this version wanted the audience to be able to accept and understand Lu Feng, at least eventually.

A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills' Dream - episodes 1 -3

I must say that so far the vibes that I got from the trailer are not the vibes I am getting from the series itself. The first episode threw me. It seemed weird to me.

Their is definitely some deliberate tension building between the leads.
