What's everyone's favourite country for BLs in general

In general I don't have a fav, but since I started with Korean BLs and still like them overall, they are toward the top along with Taiwan, then China and Thailand. Japan last, but even so they have some great dramas too. I just don't like their acting style as much. On the plus side their eps and dramas are short.

For those who are caught up with winter sun,

I'm still at EP 9 but I'll be sure to catch up in time for the last ep!! I'm counting down the days!

ETA: Where'd you go?!?! 🤣

Ash

Less than 60 secs in and it was over before it started. I didn't have much of a feel for this drama ahead of time so when it came up on my YT feed tonight I clicked play. I'm done. 💀💀

Don’t Be Too Emotional ep8

Who’s keeping up? One thing about this show, it’s not predictable, but it’s still keeping my attention. It doesn’t hurt that the main couple chemistry is amazing. I also find Tee Boonyakait absolute 🔥🔥🔥🔥. His facial expressions are melting me. They’re actually both great at conveying unspoken feelings.

But is the creepy stalker room romantic?! I mean, we all know Little Jane was willing to forgive anything at this point, but still! At least the show played the theme song, in acknowledgment of Big Jane still being a red flag. But I’m a sucker for obsessive, toxic characters….

@RX where are you when we need you? Time for some screenshots of that NC scene! Also I’d like to know if you’re still loving this show.

At no point have I been able to guess what’s coming next, and it makes me uneasy, but I’m still sat.

My mother-in-law passed away on Thursday. My spouse is overcome with both sadness and relief. It was hard having a judgmental parent, and it was hard caring for someone slowly dying. It feels like way longer than two days since it happened.

Now I think my spouse will officially come out as nonbinary. I will try my best to switch to they/them pronouns, but it’ll take some practice after 15 years.

All changes take time, including accepting loss and redefining oneself for the world. We’ll see what they have energy for at this point in our lives.

We inherited my MIL’s dog, who is crazy but adorable. My dog gets along fine with the new addition.

I am trying to catch up on at least my currently watching BLs. I need to escape all the emotional intensity. But my spouse wants to talk every 5 minutes so it’s taking forever to get through anything. I managed Class Crush Crisis and Don’t Be Too Emotional yesterday.

I also watched Enchanté over the course of last week. It was cute, and I needed something light and good for filler time. For all of you who are French or speak French, though, it might drive you nuts. I can’t say for sure what a French accent is supposed to sound like, but I know enough to know that Book, who is supposed to speak fluent French in the show, does not sound like a native. If that doesn’t bother you, I’d recommend it. It was a little slow but I enjoyed returning to an older, predictable BL format. It was comforting. And Force looked good with bangs! Plus it has Aou, Boom, (not as a couple), Gawin, and Fluke Pusit. Fun!

Here’s a picture of our new dog. She is a miniature schnauzer.

For pics of BL hotties, check out the photo feeds in the official BL group. I’ll try to post some photos from Don’t Be Too Emotional later today.

Now I’m going to try to finish Bittersweet Love.

I'm so sorry. I wish your spouse the best and hope they find the comfort and care they need.

I too know the feeling of relief, after the passing of my mother from a several years long illness, for her sake. It's one of the hardest things ever to experience. For a long time I felt like the world dropped away from under my feet. I was completely lost. I can't believe it'll be 4 years ago this November.

I'm not making this up, I found MDL and this group just a few months later. 🥰

Doggie is really handsome!

I really liked this drama and gave it a 9/10. It's been a while since I've seen it.

Take good care of yourself!

Bittersweet Love eps 11 & 12

Wow what an ending! I had to read the whole episode 11 subreddit to understand the timeline though.

Great show. Red flag level toxic relationship but nowhere near some of the other shows we’ve seen lately. Everything felt subtler and more complex. I guess family involvement can do that.

I have a lot to say but my brain is overloaded and I can’t really write long reviews right now.

But if it sounds appealing to you based on the synopsis, I think it’s worth the watch. It’s on Viki.

@Art Girl

Thanks for your kind words. I know you’ve experienced loss and would understand.

yes he doesnt 🤣🤣🤣 i watched that show longtime ago but i remember the accent wasnt good but i dont mind, i think of it as another language lol i know its difficult to be able to speak a language smoothly so i dont find it as a big deal

Sorry for your loss. Judgmental or not, it can be hard losing a parent.

A new dog to your family, though, is nice. And them all getting along is even better!

So, I've been on a role since yesterday.

Yesterday, I finally started Jun & Jun, watched the first two episodes.

Today, I watched the GL Lily Fever, the short BL film Step for You, and finally went back and restarted/finished Long Time No See all for my Blast from the Past Challenge. Just two years left to watch and that challenge will be complete!

I know these are all short dramas/films, but still... completely watching three in one day.. Go me! It's been a long time since I last accomplished that feat.

Now, I'm thinking of maybe watching the Thai Short Film 'It's You, Only You' to finish the day off..

i can relate on the sadness and grief. i lost my mom almost 5 yrs ago. even now, i still miss her and each day i can say it's sad that she's not here to witness this, or i'm glad she's not here to witness this lol. i hope your spouse (dora) will be strong and find comfort

@indie when we lost something, we find something new as well. that's what adds color to life

Yes, thx. Very true.

One of the very first members I "met"here was Mr. P! He doesn't know it but his presence here has been a comfort to me ever since. 🫰

i had 3 close relatives who passed away from cancer,

Awww, I'm sorry too for both of you. ❤️

I guess no one is immune to loss, sigh. My mom told me to always be happy and to find smth to laugh about every day if possible. She was very spontaneous and lived in the moment. I think she lived well and had very few regrets. That makes the loss more bearable for sure and as Arcane says, now they all have peace. I've read about NDEs and it sounds like an amazing world after this one. I will stop here and only talk about BLs now. 😁

Long Time No See

I thought this was a pretty decent drama. I also liked Jun & Jun.

I watched the first ep of Weirdo 101 and I think I'll like it. I hesitate cuz so many times I've rushed into a fast conclusion after only one ep of a new drama I'm excited about, to find out later I didn't like it so much after all. 😂
