Happy Birthday @LueurArcaneπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰Hope you have a magical day!

I've started a few new titles that just ended or will be ending soon...and they're all JBLs πŸ˜† I watched the first ep of each drama to get a feel for them. I got this idea from one of you guys here, but I don't remember who. I wanted to know which ones I might enjoy the most and which ones I should pass on.

I don't think too hard or examine too deeply about a drama overall, so my comments tend to be superficial and casual. I'm in it for the entertainment above all else, lol. And I would say many, not all, of the BLs I watch are more lighthearted so there may not be a strong connection to the story or characters like Winter Sun, for example. That drama inspired me more than most.

Your Sky: Hare Nochi Koi - I watched the Thai version while it was airing, along with other members here. I liked and enjoyed it, but didn't LOVED it. I had to keep watching for it to grow on me and I'm glad I finished it. I love Thomas and Teerak's sister was so adorable!. 😍

I'm on the fence about the J-version after EP 1. I have a good impression of Sora, but for Hinata, the fluffy innocent cutie bits aren't there for me. Overall the vibe is less colorful and bubbly than the Thai version. I could keep watching for now. Maybe it gets cuter?

Your Summer, My Storm - There's just enough of a different spin on the story and enjoyable MLs that I watched the first 3 eps. I'm prob more curious about how this story ends than anything else. I do have a soft spot for Natsuki though. I'll keep it on my CW list.

My Summer of You - I didn't finish the first ep. It felt like a recycled x 100 plot with the exact same lines like so many school JBLs. Convos are cookie cutter and uninspiring. There's no motivation to keep watching. Or it's me. Or my bias is showing. 😭🀣. Do I keep watching or not...πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Now I'd rather start Popular Serizawa Acts Weird around Me, but I need to wait to binge watch! Mr. P got me hyped! lol

Thank you for this I see the cat from Choco Milk Shake in Love Penalty.

"Choco Milk Shake" is probably my favourite Strongberry - partly because of my visceral love of dogs and cats, but also because the three lead actors really nailed it. Thus, I'm automatically interested in "Love Penalty".

I agree the actors nailed their parts in this, but I felt a bit weird about the idea of dating my own dog. Maybe my imagination is too vivid. Lol. It was still a very sweet series.

My favorite Strongberry is Long Time No See (2017), which was pretty cutting edge for when it was made. Now we have quite a few BLs in the crime/mafia genre, but back then there were few. To make something this low-budget but still impactful is really impressive to me. Also, I’m discovering that I really love eventful stories and dramatic tension much more than I thought I did.

That’s not to say I don’t still need my cute and fluffy.

@Indie Art Girl: omg yes I felt the say way about My Summer of You. I watched the whole drama and only two scenes were of any interest and the rest was so boring. The two scenes were the confession in the first episode and the childhood flashback in I believe ep 5. It was just like you said for me 'Convos are cookie cutter and uninspiring.'

Happy birthday @LueurArcane πŸ’œπŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸŽ‚ !!!
