Is anyone watching Tin Tem Jai? I want to know if it's worth watching

If you judge just by the ratings, I'm probably one of the few who still likes the show. It's a slice of life, *very* slow burn and is definitely not to everyone's liking. The main couple have had a NongPhi relationship most of their lives and the older one, Park, is reluctant to change that dynamic for various reasons. His confession didn't happen until episode 7 and their first real kiss was in episode 9.

Even for me, the episodes have been very uneven. I enjoyed the earlier episodes showing the neighborhood and everyone's interconnectedness. But, episode 9  (of 12) was released this week and I feel like I'm still missing so much about Barbie, Pao, Khana and Pai (the rest of their close-knit friend group). The younger MC, Tin, is a college student who seems like he's been sheltered for far too long. He's incredibly immature which can be cute at times and annoying at times.

TLDR: There are much better shows out there.

Hi All

Did I miss a message, about moving to a new forum? I’ve popped in a couple of times and it’s been quiet.

Hi can I join this club~?? I’d love to see discussions on BL dramas especially since I love watching it ^^

I can't say I've found it worthwhile. It's a time filler for me.

I seem to be one of the few who really likes this series. Yes, I admit that it has some deficiencies in production, story, coherence, character organisation and script (as well as uneven Gagaoolala subtitles). But I have enthusiastically watched through episode 9 and am eagerly awaiting tomorrow's final episode 10 for two reasons:
(1) The series is very centred on Tin, and I like him - a lot. He's so sweet and cute, and his smile is so infectious (not only on the other characters, also on me!). And although he's very intimate with Park, he's actually a "pure boy" type - it's very cute in episode 9 when he gets all embarrassed!
(2) This series takes place among normal Thai people in a modest neighbourhood. Although the story feels very scripted at times, this part of it feels very genuine. None of the characters lives in an ultra-luxury apartment in Bangkok or drives a $200,000 sports car. Some people may wish for that lifestyle, but I don't. I prefer normal "slice of life" scenarios like this series.

My advice: Try watching a scene with Tin. If you find him cute and endearing, you may like the series, despite its deficiencies. If he makes you cringe, you surely won't.

What shows have you all been loving lately?

Because new BL releases on Viki seem to have temporarily slowed recently*, I've also subscribed to Gagaoolala and have been really enjoying some of their content which is not on Viki, notably:
Naked Dining (Zenra Meshi) - Sweet, heart-warming, food-oriented series with Yutaro ❤
Our Dining Table (Bokura no Shokutaku) - Also a sweet, heart-warming, food-oriented series, but in this one, the cute little kid is totally the star of the series. What a fantastic child actor!
Minato's Laundramat (Minato Shouji Coin Laundry) - I missed this series when it came out a few months ago, and wow, I'm so glad I saw it now. Lovely. (The blurb on this series is deceptive. Minato is in his late 20s, so hardly "middle aged", and although Shin is 18 at the start of the series, he's very focused and mature, arguably more mature than Minato - so don't be put off by the supposed "age difference" theme.)
Me, My Husband, and My Husband's Boyfriend (Watashi to Otto to Otto no Kareshi) - Although polyamorous relationships aren't really my thing, this series is really well done and surprisingly engaging.

*No disrespect to Viki intended. Recent BL series such as Eighth Sense and Beautiful Man 2 are absolutely fantastic, and I'll gladly take quality over quantity. I ❤ Viki!

I was also thinking about subscribing. I found several shows I was interested in.

Viki is technically a better platform, so if a series is on both, I will watch it on Viki - but Gagaoolala also has quite a lot of very worthwhile content which is not on Viki, so I'm happy to pay for both. (Useful tip: Although I trust both, I use virtual credit card numbers just to be extra safe.)

I already have Viki, just wanted to add Gaga for additional access. Thanks.

Best decision I ever made was subscribing to GagaOoLala. I watch a lot of content there, as it's chock full of LGBTQIA+ content.

The downside is that they frequently remove things from their site, and you have to scramble to ensure you watch it before it's deleted.

I finished both seasons of Utsukushii Kare and I had both a great time watching and a great need to bang my head up against the wall- I also loved the rubber duck in the bow tie
