 p43425:
Can you follow the Japanese without subtitles?

No. I was using a browser extension for subtitles which has since been removed. [Don't know why!].

 p43425:
Netflix (like Iqiyi) seems to look at where the account is registered, so VPN seems not to overcome geo-blocking.

Depends on your VPN.  I'm able to watch iQIYI and Netflix from other countries while signed into my account; however, my VPN server offers a stealth mode and is probably overlooked as its not as well known as other VPN services.

 p43425:
I use virtual credit card numbers just to be extra safe.) My Bilibili account uses one of my dummy e-mail addresses

Ditto. I use email address aliases for all my online accounts (except with my doctor) so I can track spam and see who has sold my details. Also, I never enter my credit card details anywhere. That said, I've never created an account at Bilibili as it's not really a site that I use.

I think virtual credit cards are very low risk: You can create them individually with a tight limit and set them to expire (or cancel them) at any time.

I thought that the German VPN I pay for is very good and not so well known, but I'm sure you're right. (You usually are!) In any case, I'm reluctant to get my Netflix account banned ... so better safe than sorry.

 p43425:

I only watch Bilibili and Iqiyi on my PC browser. I personally would not install an app for either of these. (I do, however, trust the Viki and Gaga Android apps - although even with these, I use virtual credit card numbers just to be extra safe.) My Bilibili account uses one of my dummy e-mail addresses, so there's not much they can do with that - and in fact, I've not yet gotten any spam whatsoever to that address. So I think it's pretty low risk.

On Viki and other apps I use a prepaid card and only add the exact amount when its due.

This Saturday sees the final episode of "Mr Cinderella" season 2 (Vietnam, 2023). According to Ba Vinh, the OST will drop today but he failed to say where it would be available to listen or purchase.

Thanks for the info! That helps a lot. :-)

A fan subber is a drama fan who translates for free to an exclusive list of subscribers.

Ah, I see! Thank you for helping me to understand better. I use about three sites where I can watch dramas and so far it works for me pretty good.

All eight episodes of "A Breeze of Love" (South Korea, 2023) have dropped on iQIYI.

I can't wait to watch them *-* (probably tonight!)

Do you perhaps already watched it? Or formed any opinion on it?

Grrr. Once again, geo-blocked in Germany. When I connect to UK using my VPN but don't log in, it shows up on Iq.com - but as soon as I log in, it's geo-blocked. I'm not a techie, but I can only assume that Iqiyi looks at the location of my account registration - or am I missing something?

You're missing something I feel. Do you clear your browser cache before setting your VNP, and then logging into iQIYI?

I'm reviewing each episode as I watch it. You can see these on the episode details of the drama's page.

Thanks :) I'll look there ;D

Episode 3 of "Kiss x Kiss x Kiss: Love ii Shower " (Japan, 2023), being the second BL episode of this series.

Just watched the first episode of "Middleman's Love" (iQIYI). I really want to like this series, especially after waiting for it so long. I love Tutor and Yim, who for me were the absolute highlight of "Cutie Pie". Maybe it will get better with future episodes, but at the moment ... so disappointing. Meh. :-(

By the way, for those watching today's final episode of "You Are Mine", be sure not to miss the last bit after the closing sequence.

 p43425:
Just watched the first episode of "Middleman's Love" (iQIYI).

Unfortunately, I read the novel of "Middleman's Love" (Thailand, 2023) earlier this year. Then the casting issues happened, so "Bed Friend" (Thailand, 2023) was released first meaning the novels were released out of order. If this drama is anything to go by, it won't be like the novels. Jade is more like a clown in this than the adorably oblivious middleman for King and his admirers, and Uea and Mai he was in the novel.

Random thought...

What do you guys think the next big BL drama genre trend/theme/trope will be or hope to see?

I know it depends on the country +most are adaptations of novels/comics etc. We had the university engineers , dentists and boys with guitars. Next was the cooking and food era. The office romance has a good run as well. Now we seem to be in a mafia/gangster and time travel phase lol. I feel like we are going to have a boom in more sticky situation-ship, hookup culture  and grey area type stories like only friends.

If the industry had a better budget for it I would love to see more grander and ambitious sci-fi/fantasy/supernatural/thriller BLs one day.
