RiqueXinw:
the series was.....Be My Favourite.  Please don't stone me!

I checked it earlier (after you said you only dropped one series I was curious) and  I was surprised, may I ask what made you drop it? personally I really liked this series.

Okay, so I never got into SOTUS; I didn't like it. I ended up watching season 2 and the Our Sky episode of it though and caught some liking for it, cool. Now when I saw Be My Favourite advertise I decided to watch because its me, new bl, I am most definitely going to watch. It started fine for me until about episode three. I had so much apathy for it and it was like a burden to continue watching. It came to where I was couple episodes behind and it was getting good reviews so I dedicated time to catch up and really look into why I was not enjoying it. I assumed that it was the slow burn of it and because I already hated the slow burn in SOTUS seeing Krist playing yet another role in a slow burn where he denies and holds out on his feelings for such an extended time, brought back the same dislike. For me his characters always seem forced in playing a bl role; I know I am on thin ice here with the SOTUS fans. I also felt that the constant back and forth in time made it unprogressive and the other conflicts in the series, such as the dad dying , to me overshadowed the romantic aspect of the series; making it a somewhat strained bl plot. At the end I realised that it was a more personal dislike for some of the elements of it that made me not like it. The reason why I dropped it though, I finished it, because it was not solely because of dislike because I have seen some aweful things that ended up on my complete list; it was because at the end of it there was so much disinterest that it would be unfair to give a rating; I felt I did not grasp enough understanding to fairly rate it. Hence I left it finished and unrated open to re- watching another time.

That's fair enough - and although I mostly liked "Be My Favourite" and can see some good things about it, especially as a time-travel story that works and doesn't just seem cliché, I have to admit that I got bored at times. There have been some BLs that I've gone back to try again - and sometimes I find that, once I know what to expect, I like them better.

 p43425:

Eep, sorry for unleashing such a firestorm about "Wedding Plan". At least I can console myself that, judging by the MDL reviews, some others liked it, too - and BL Watcher gave it an "A-", which for BL Watcher is really high. Needless to say, we're all entitled to our different tastes and opinions.

Wedding Plan went on my dropped list before the first episode was over.  I have no problem dumping a show that doesn't appeal to me.

Be My Favorite was not a favorite for me, but I managed to finish it. I could only give it a 7.

Well, another person here who really hated Sotus! (speaking of myslef) never understood the hype, I found this series to be super boring and yet I've even watched Sotus S....Krist character did annoy me in Sotus, but it was overshadowed by my dislike to Singto, sorry for his fans, but I couldn't stand him, still can't (one of the reasons why I never managed to bring myself to watch He's Coming to Me even though I wanted).  I actually don't have a problem with Krist and I like Gawin, so I enjoyed this series. I can understand why you haven't. But if you finished it, you can still have it under 'completed' just without rating (something I really like in this site, unlike IMDB, as I don't always want to give a rating to something I watched).

Does anyone know if all 3 gmmtv series: Last Twiight, Cherry Magic and Cooking Crush are going on a 2 week break next week? I saw people talking about it on twitter but can't find it confirmed anywhere.

He's Coming to Me is the only one I've seen with Singto, so I can't confirm but somewhere I picked up the idea that it's a different sort of role for him. Might be worth trying if you can set your previous impressions aside.

Though it's very much the kind of story I love and we seem to have different tastes so maybe not.

I mostly want to watch it for Ohm, though I'm also not very into ghost stories (yet I've seen some BLs with this storyline). Mostly because, well, ghosts are dead people, so in a way those romantic stories can't really be happy (unless the dead is brought back to life, but I've never came across such a plot).

You can try Hidden Love, if you have not seen it. It involves ghost but the leads are not ghosts so happy ending. That is all I remember.

Ohm is great in it. We get his funny side, his radiating kindness side, some humourously grey morals, and a deft turn with serious drama. You'll probably bawl your eyes out but watch it anyway, it is full of love and warmth and kindness and has the biggest heart.

I have a low tolerance for series which upset me. I adore this one, Thun and P'Med.

I can't wait to see them in another series, patiently waiting for an update on their upcoming one.

 p43425:
I think that might be "BL Drama no Shuen ni Narimashita". According to cafeBL.com: "The drama will be aired in two versions, with the first premiering on TV Asahi on January 1, 2024, and the second on TELASA on February 24, 2024." The MDL profiles don't say anything yet, so I didn't bother linking them.

According to Gagaoolala "Coming soon", Episode 1 will post on 24 December (as "I Became the Main Role of a BL Drama"). I'm really looking forward to this one!

 p43425:

Yeah, Zee and Nunew (the real people) seem to have really nice personalities and a great chemistry together when doing fan service (recent example) - but I wasn't so excited about them in Cutie Pie.

I think the writing was a key issue for me, it seemed to be all over the place... I'm sure their chemistry is great and I hope if I ever watch anything with them in it again that it's better.

Is it any good? (as the rating of it here is quite low)
