One of my favourite Stronghold BLs is "Choco Milk Shake" (2022, Youtube). Aside from its overall high story, production and acting quality, I have a soft spot for dog/cat transformation stories. I'm a dog person (I love my real life dog to pieces!), but I'm also good with cats. The second episode (short story) of "Close Friend" (2021, Viki) - starring First and Ja in which First Chalongrat (who I adore!) delivers a superb acting performance as a shapeshifted cat - is another one that I really love, even though the quality of the rest of this series (collection of six separate short stories) is mixed.

Anyways, I just finished watching two more such BLs, both of them cat-becomes-cute-boyfriend: "Meow Ears Up" (2022, Viki) and  "Beside You" (newly released on Youtube). Despite the considerable weaknesses of each, I rather liked both for two simple reasons: I can relate to the cat-becomes-cute-boyfriend concept, and I found the respective cat-becomes-boy protagonists/actors really cute and sweet.

While "Meow Ears Up" is a mediocre but normal Thai series, "Beside You" (three-part mini-series) is basically 40 minutes of product placement (advertising) with a bit of ultra-lightweight BL storyline and attractive but inexperienced actors to draw viewers. That doesn't really sound like much of a recommendation for either, does it?  Well, I'm recommending these two series only very conditionally: If you especially like cat-becomes-cute-boyfriend and if you think the respective cat/boy protagonists are cute ("Meow" in the first, "Hope" in the second), you may enjoy these BLs, despite their considerable flaws.

As someone who also really loves animals, I remember when I watched Choco Milk Shake I found the whole idea of "a guy falls for his dog" a bit disturbing. Maybe it's just me, but somehow for me falling in love with your pet is a bit strange. I can't imagine such a thing irl (like, if I had a dog and he became human, I sure hope I wouldn't date him! XD).

I totally understand your own feeling, but I personally am fine with it. It's a fairy tale.

P.S. Just to be clear: My relationship with my real life dog is completely PG !!! Haha.

oh sure! hope it didn't sound like I implied to such a thing! as someone who also had pets, the idea of them becoming humans and dating them is not really appealing to me, so I was weirded out when I watched Choco Milk Shake.

Yes, agree and to each their likes. I don't think such a thing could ever happen in real life anyways haha

Same, I had it on my to-watch list when it was airing but once I saw clips in yt I removed (after contemplation of course) it. I found it a bit weird. Even though it looked adorable, I couldn't stomach the idea.

I really enjoyed this series as well, even though at times it did feel a tad bit strange.  Since I don't have pets, my imagination could easily overcome any realistic thoughts that would pop in at times.

I have season 2 in my watch list, but haven't heard any news lately.

I can totally get you. I don't think I knew what this series was about when I started to watch it XD

I am dying lollll. I have yet to watch that series so I don't know how I will feel about it yet.

Lol I had the same feeling when I watched it. Honestly I think it was really a funny and cute drama. I think it would have been better without the romance or where the pets fall in love and the humans fall in love… rather than pets and humans falling in love with each other lol.

I have a question for anyone who watched the Given anime and/or drama.

Which is better for me to start with? I heard many saying the drama wasn’t as good as the anime, but my friend says I should watch the drama first. Any recommendation?

Somehow with the cat it wasn't as bad, becuase the guy he fell for never knew him as a cat and had no idea he was a cat (or is it worst? like imagine falling in love with a guy and then finding out he's actually a cat XD)

I can't say about the drama as it's in my forever PTW, but I've seen the anime and I really liked it. From past experience, I'd guess the anime is probably better. At least that was the case with Love Stage anime vs the JP movie version of it.

Quite right - but falling in love with a guy and then finding out he's actually a dog would be great because dogs are totally loyal and give unconditional love and face licks.

Who watched the final episode of Last Twilight? Such a beautiful ending!!! I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy. What are my Fridays going to be like now that the show has ended? I’m so so going to miss this series!
