Hello. I'm new to commenting and this discussion sounds good.

OK, I don't do horror either. I gave DFF like 15 minutes.

I wanted to ask you if you have the same feelings as me about Viki.

I watch KDramas, CDramas and JDoramas as well, so Viki is useful. I have also kept my iQIYI subscription.

RE: After Sundown - Hmm, maybe I'll start it and can always stop if it doesn't feel good. NuNew is my fav too! I'll let you know what I find out. :-)

OK, let us know how it goes.

How did you do watching?  I was freaked out.

However, After Sundown was not scary at all. I was say it's more fantasy than horror. It was 8/10 for me but I'm biased towards ZeeNunew, so frankly it was more like 6.5 to 7 out of 10. If you have an hour and half to kill I would watch it.

Just finished After Sundown. Sooo, light on the horror, but one surprising and gory scene I didn't like. Overall it was manageable cuz the effects and so on didn't feel believable. Actually, except for a few lovey-dovey moments, the whole movie wasn't very well done.  I suspect the MDL rating of 7.5 is partly due to Zee/NuNew just being in it and Hannah's biased scoring, haha.  I gave it a 6/10. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends. :-(

Not a total waste of time though. I added it to my 2024 52 Week Drama Challenge list. February was looking bare until this week.

Hi! I see you are watching Not Me! How do you like it so far? I'm asking because it's a top fav of mine and I'm curious, haha.

@American Fan and @angeliviki2022

I'll watch that if I'm in the mood for a shorter drama again, but I'm still gonna hold out hope for a top quality sageuk bl.

I wanted to ask you if you have the same feelings as me about Viki. I have the impression that they have less and less BL productions, when something does appear it's mostly old, though obviously great, GMMTV productions, previously available for free on YouTube. Gagaoolala, on the other hand, is on the offensive, Iqyi doesn't disappoint either, WeTv traditionally promotes geoblocking, although with a good VPN this is not a problem.

I tend to be nitpicky about subtitles in dramas in general and from my experience Viki is best in that department while most others tend to have some questionable subtitles at best and unreadable ones at worst.

Thanks for the honest feedback.

 Hannah:

I agree that it was meh, but the  OST for it was pretty good.

I did like the ost, but... yeah

You raise a very good point that I hadn't really focused on until your post: The last "must watch" BL new release that I can think of which was exclusive to Viki (meaning for me: not on Gaga, iQiyi or Youtube, since I don't have WeTV or Viu) was "Eighth Sense", which was almost a year ago.

On the other hand, Viki is still my favourite as a technical platform, on both PC and Android: It keeps bookmarks correctly and allows me to directly edit them (delete unwanted bookmarks), the Android app works perfectly (I haven't tried the iQiyi Android app because I don't trust it), it allows me to keep my own private lists, and it has moderated reviews which I often find helpful. In short, it's the most comfortable and convenient platform for me - so when I have a choice, I watch on Viki.

Also, like Axdxex, I like to re-watch my favourites on Viki, plus there are also quite a few older BLs (and a few non-BLs) that I have yet to watch. But as Axdxex also says, Viki's biggest weakness for me is Japanese BLs, which is ironic since, of these platforms, Viki is the only one which is Japanese-owned; when it comes to JBLs, Gaga wins hands down. And yes, iQiyi has gotten much stronger in BLs over the past year (although as a Chinese platform, that could change quickly).

In any case, my annual Viki subscription just renewed two weeks ago, so I have another 50 weeks to decide ...

Speaking of horror, I just came across this 2023 movie starring Zee/NuNew, After Sundown. YT has some clips and now I wanna see it, but it's a horror movie.  I just want to see Zee/NuNew! Has anyone watched it and was a very heavy on the horror? Maybe it's skippable?

I watched after sundown before it aired internationally, and watching a movie after watching dramas more, a movie was well, short. It did not contain anything special, but scary-looking ghosts in BL's are pretty rare ( I haven't come across any) we have series like Something in My Room and Ghost Host Ghost House ( not sure if this is the right name) which is not scary AT ALL. After sundown is not scary at all too imo ( I like horror) but the ghost had a good look.

In conclusion, I'd say if you're a Zeenunew shipper and have some time for a quick watch, you can.

Watching HIStory Trapped, the ones I watched from this series didn't resonate with me. Let's see how this goes.

Pals, who are you favorite ships from c-dramas? Of course they're not really BL, but you know what I mean.
