I am watching Butterfly movie, it's kinda sad. I believe it does present the situation of lesbian rights in Hong Kong back then and lesbian life in general. It's more of a lesbian movie than a GL one.

I mean... the only odd thing is they're cousins. Is this practiced a lot in India? Cousins marrying each other? If they're only shocked because they're both women, they should get over it.

Eh, I'm more caught on the fact that the younger is only up to Class 10 (age 14-16 according to google). 

As for the being cousins. A few questions. For one, how closely related cousins? Were they particularly close while growing up? I didn't think cousin marriage was uncommon in India (though not common either anymore, mind you), so is the outcry more because they are two girls? Or has there been similar instances of outcry among het couples that I'm just not aware of?

Incest and "incest-adjacent" is a pretty hefty topic that I generally don't like to comment on on public feeds. I think there is sometimes a certain amount of nuance that is sometimes worth acknowledging, even if you don't agree with it.

I see. I also didn't really catch the fact one of them is like 16. Are we sure about that one or are they both over 18? Also, Athena makes some good points. Were they close growing up? If they are distant cousins then maaybe it's okay. But yeah, idk what the term sisters in the article implies. Does that mean they grew up like sisters?

New Zealand-made sapphic fantasy short film "Crown & Blade" releases today (August 9th) on YouTube!

The indie project started promotion back in 2022 on social media, with the original hope of releasing in early 2023. The pandemic, local flooding and cyclones, scheduling conflicts with post-production crew, and attempts at film festivals delayed that release. But it's finally here!

Openly queer Isabella Pezza is the executive producer of the film, is credited as the director and writer, and acts as the soldier and princess's exiled lover main character. Amy Workman (Teen Wolf: The Movie) stars alongside as the strong-willed princess willing to risk it all for love.
