Try a vpn? You can use protonvpn for free if you make a free account. Proton can be trusted. Only ten countries available for free though (Canada, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Switzerland, US), so I hope in one of them those aren't banned.
There is no way to vpn into China. No vpn service has servers inside China afaik. (Gawd I wish)

No, I mean that I can't make my IP address look like it's coming from within China.
When I lived in China I did have a vpn, with which I could make my ip address look like it came from any other country except China.
I think the CCP doesn't allow vpn providers to run servers inside their country, so there is no vpn service that lets you reroute your internet traffic through a server in China, to make your ip address look Chinese.

You should be able to submit without a poster. I created a page for a vertical drama without a post and it just used a stock photo with the name of the drama instead here.

I'm not very familiar with this stuff, I use the opera vpn when I need to and just let it do it's thing 😅 i didn't think the Chinese government even allowed vpns, they block a lot of foreign media there and do monitoring and stuff. Initially our government used to flag IP addresses too but now people use tiktok etcetra via vpn i think, but not widely

Open the video and take a screenshot of the beginning or smth. It should be enough for a cover photo. I found a random photo for a short film I submitted the other day. They accepted it because it was a screenshot of the movie, of one of the characters.

As an active contributor, here are some tips I can share when it comes to poster / cover image.
If the series is adapted from book /manga/manhwa, you can use the e-book cover as an option to the poster. Later the approval staff will add the default poster to the page.
If the series has its pilot or teaser already released, you can screenshot the scene with series name as the poster. Or if pilot/teaser has its title as the thumbnail, you can use it as well. But if thumbnail/screenshot is horizontal, you must rotate to vertical format.
If there's no other option, you can use the default poster. But make sure to explain why there's no poster.

Yes they used to sporadically block vpn's, but it was always temporary, and never all providers at the same time. It didn't seem like a serious attempt at blocking it all, more like an annoyance to make vpn's seem unreliable. It's not that they couldn't block more, it's that they didn't. Idk it's been a long time since I've lived there though, and I hear it's gotten easier.
But afaik they've never allowed vpn servers to run inside China, they've only allowed people within China to connect to vpn servers outside of China.
I'll lose my mind if we have something like here in India
The YouTube algorithm has recommended some BL from India from time to time. For example here. Nothing with actual budget though, and no GL yet. But Thailand also took a good number of years before BL got budget, and then another good couple before the BL genre spawned the GL genre... so it might take a while but there's not zero hope? There's a start? Maybe it'll be faster because now they have Thailand to point to as proof that it can work?
