Looks like the ML is Qian Zhe and FL is Meng Na. You can check MDL to see if any drama listed with these 2 actors.

I never understand why it's ok and even nonchalant for FLs to order male prostitute when it is CLEARLY illegal in China. I have never seen a ML do that because all the women watchers will hang them. Talk about double standard.

Understandable, I can’t think of any off the top of my head but I’m thinking more broadly too like keeping someone as a stand-in for salary yet sleeping with them is a form of escorting so that one is major because it happens a lot in plots. I get what you mean, though, about FL actively going to clubs & trying to pick up dudes for money. That is quite strange.

Isn't both prostitution (selling sex for money) and sponsorship usually about both parties being agree to be in that kind of relationship? Whether there's someone's sick needed money, for revenge, for tuition, for connection and power, anything. When FL search for male model/prostitute and host/one night stand, it's the same. Both parties have to agree. If not, that will be a crime starting from sexual assault to human trafficking to rape.

In short drama woman usually search for male prostitute for emotional fulfilment before or after a bad relationship and sometimes just for fun (like small revenge towards cheating partner). While man usually search for female companion for sexual fulfilment, health (ahahaha) or unrequited love (including love that turns into hate aka revenge in the shape of humiliation).
