How do I tell whether a C-drama is good?

Hi, I don't know if it's just me but I can never tell whether a C-drama is good based on the ratings and reviews because they are always all over the place! For K-dramas, the ratings and reviews are usually reliable, but I find that isn't the case with C-dramas. Sometimes the ratings are low but the reviews/comments praise it as a masterpiece and other times, the reviews/comments are bad but the ratings are good. How exactly am I supposed to comprehend this?

trust your gut after reading numerous comments but mostly think about how interesting and to your liking the synopsis is.

Modern C-drama are usually correct about the rating,i dont know about historicals.

I usually read the comments try to deduce what others dont like (when 3+ people have the same opinion) and find out if it would put me off from watching it.
