In The Name of Blossom - Chinese Dramas

Having watched the series “Flourished Peony”, I am now watching the sequel “In The Name of Blossom”. In episode 7 our FL Wei Fang gives our ML Jiang Chang Yang, a broken hairpin. (A broken hairpin signified the ending of a relationship). I have to sit through ten episodes of angst before she explains why and they come together as one.
Grrr, why are Chinese dramas so full of this type of heartbreaking shite?!

Don't know, but it's one of the reasons why I gave up on Cdrama. A couple being happy for part of an episode just means at least three of misery because of a misunderstanding, especially in the historical dramas. I watch to learn about other cultures and to put myself in a better mood, not wallow in sadness and frustration. The ratio of depressing is too high for me.

I ended up watching all the episodes,  the last being episode 24.  The ending I thought was a bit tame.
