How to Add Actors that not available in MDL?

Hi guys.. I just wondering.. Where is the place that you can add the Actor/actress that not available in mdl? I mean there's no place for add them but add new title is available but the actors is not. Can y'all tell me where is the place ? Thnks

Anyways i ask bc "Feel what you feel BL Drama " that have Main Roles named Cheng Hao (程昊) that not available in this MDL. He is second couple with Huang Huai Ting. Thnks

You click Explore on the header menu at the top of the website and then click Add New Person. https://kisskh.at/add/person/details

Don't forget to follow submission guidelines. https://kisskh.at/discussions/support/17285-guidelines-editing-and-submitting-new-dramas-movies-and-actors

It is also advised to just submit one or two cast roles for a New Person and the rest of the cast credits can be added after approval.

Does that work even if you have minimal info. Like Gao Gao. Drama Credits cast list. Or someone otherwise identified as cast, especially a YouTube channel. Not necessarily gold standard sources, but likely valid.

Minimal info is fine. As long as you have the stage name, native name, gender, country and one cast credit, that is all you really need.

A YouTube channel is fine as long as you can give a timestamp of their appreacnce, even better is if you can give a timestamp of the cast credits at the end of an episode or movie shows their name. It should also be a video that is easily identifiable athe title you are crediting. For example, if it is a vertical drama with some made up name for the video title, and it doesn't match what is on MDL then that may not be a good source since we can't tell if it is the correct title.

Attempted to add a person. Almost total fail. Maybe because I'm on a Kindle Fire? If that's the problem I'll just wait. I really do need to get a "real" tablet. Understatement.

  1. Couldn't add a pic. Selected camera and was routed to my camera app. Selected a pic from 'Screenshots" and got stuck there. Couldn't do anything with it.

  2. Couldn't add drama title, role, character, etc. Inaccessible.

  3. Also couldn't access Additional Information.

I was attempting to add a female child actor: Wang Yue Xi aka Wang Yuexi. Thought I had everything listed in the guidelines. From what I could tell, most of the information I need is available here:

I was also hoping to submit the drama and other cast.

The drama doesn't have an MDL page. The ML, Bai Yu, is the only cast on MDL. Couldn't find the FL, Wang Manman. There are also 7 other child actors with nothing on MDL. I did add a comments post on Bai Yu's page (matched native name - I think).

I'm kind of focused on child actors. Got interested when most of the Sui Sui versions was missing the info.

@geezette It is pretty hard to edit anything on mobile (as you can't type in text fields like character name boxes, or select drop downs like support role, main role, etc.) If you want to submit anything, then it needs to be on desktop.

Also, if you want to add an actor on MDL, then you also have to make sure there is already a drama or movie page made for the title you are crediting. That needs to be approved first before you can make a person's profile. Profile's will not be accepted with zero cast/crew credits.

That second paragraph is golden. The drama you've found has to have an MDL page, or you have to find something they were in that does. Doh! You've saved me so much time and frustration!

Do they also have to be already listed in that existing drama page as cast? But can you add them to cast if they don't have a page? Probably the definition of over thinking chicken/egg scenarios. Way above my pay level of zero. Add in being Asian languages challenged and I'll just continue to set something up for myself and try not to trouble anyone. Those happy helperitis episodes ... Sigh ... Maybe, someday, I'll work my way up to adding cast from a properly approved source.

You can't add them as cast to a drama/movie page if they don't have a profile in the database. They can only be added to the cast list when a profile is submitted and approved.

There is a backlog of New Titles at the moment, especially Chinese ones. Not sure how long it will take to be reviewed, but hopefully they will all be cleared by the end of the month.
