Some popular and beloved Korean dishes I love include Kimchi, Bibimbap, Bulgogi, Tteokbokki, and Japchae. Other popular dishes I love also are Korean Fried Chicken and Sundubu Jjigae (soft tofu stew).

Amongst all K-dishes, I like this the least. I guess because of the high MSG content. It's a popular Korean dish but, I feel that it is not universally liked. I've once tried the prepackaged tteokbokki and it was so sweet. It is NOT supposed to be a sweet food.
Why 2 different answers?
All the people I know (maybe not my father, he's a vegan who dislike unfamiliar foods) love tteok in any form. They could eat them in spicy or sweet and spicy sauce like tteokpokki or rapokki (with ramen and odeng), or with fried chicken (could be in sweet and spicy sauce or honey soy garlic sauce), sometimes with mozarella on top. It could also be skewered in spicy and sweet sauce (tteokkochi). Love the texture, it's so chewy. I also tried a few brands of instant and instant cup tteokpokki and rapokki and they're all good as long as you follow the instruction strictly. Tteok is quite tricky, it has to be perfectly al dente.
