To join the watch parties, you will need a Discord account.

2. Do I need to download Discord, or can I use it in my browser?

It is up to you. You can download the Discord app on your laptop, phone or tablet, or you can use it from a browser.

Privacy & Comfort

1. Do I need to use my microphone or camera?

No, you do not need to use them.

2. Will my identity be visible to others?

Your identity will not be visible to others. Only the username you choose to have when you join Discord or when you join the MDL server.

3. Can I just watch without interacting?

Yes, you can watch without interacting, though small interactions with others are encouraged.

Scheduling & Time Zones

1. How are the watch party times decided?

The watch party times are decided based on users adding their availability to when2meet.com and picking the times that overlap for the most users.

2. Will there be options for different time zones?

If enough people are interested and someone can host the watch party, then yes.

3. What if I can’t make all the sessions?

You can join just one session, 3 sessions, or all. It is up to you. Nothing happens if you don't. This is just a way to have fun with fellow movie lovers.

Voting (for Voting Night)

1. Do I have to vote to participate?

No, you do not have to, though it is encouraged to vote if you want a certain movie to win.

2. Who can vote?

For this watch party, anyone on MDL can vote. For other watch parties, only users who join them can vote.

3. How are the movie options selected?

Users suggest 15 movies they want us to watch. Everyone else votes. When the voting ends, the movie in first place is the one we watch.

How the Watch Party Works

1. How do we actually watch the movie together?

On Discord, we have a watch-party channel where everyone joins.

2. Do I need to stream the movie myself?

No, you do not need to stream the movie yourself.

3. Will someone be streaming, or do we sync manually?

Yes, Forgotten_Soul or I will stream the movie. You do not have to sync the movie manually unless you are having issues or prefer to watch on a different device.

Technical Requirements

1. Do I need any special device or setup to join?

No, you do not need any special device or setup. Just your regular device and speakers/headphones are enough.

2. What do I need to prepare before the watch party starts?

Just make sure your internet connection is good. Otherwise, nothing. Maybe just prepare to have a good time. LOL

Participation & Chat

1. Do I need to actively comment during the watch party?

While this is encouraged, you do not need to if you don't feel like it.

2. What do people usually talk about during the watch?

People usually talk about anything that comes to mind while watching. There are no strict rules.

Flexibility & Commitment

1. Do I have to join every watch party session?

No. You can join when you can/want.

2. Can I join just one or two movies?

Yes, you can join as many movies as you want/can.

Availability & Access

1. Do I need access to the movie beforehand?

No, you do not need access to the movie beforehand unless you want to stream it yourself separately or you are hosting the watch party.

Late Join / Leaving Early

1. Can I join late or leave in the middle of a watch party?

It is preferable to be on time so you can enjoy the movie from the start, but you can join any time and leave any time.

Spoilers

1. Are spoilers allowed during the watch party?

Spoilers are a no-no, so it doesn't ruin the fun for others, but if other people have watched it already, you can use the spoiler option || || to cover the spoilers so you can still have fun.

Activities

1. Do I have to participate in bingo, polls, or other activities?

It is encouraged, but it is up to you. It is not compulsory.

Troubleshooting

1. What if I have technical issues during the watch party?

Other users or I will do our best to help you with them (unless it's your internet provider, then we cannot do anything lol).
